Hostal ALGECIRAS

Very friendly staff , very clean rooms , very cheap and efficient, private , very warm blankets , located in the super city centre :)

The WiFi needs a bit improvement cause it suddenly stopped working but everything is very well :)

For a budget hotel I give Hostal Algeciras a solid 8/10. Great value for a single room. Great location between the port, city centre and bus/train station. I was greeted warmly arriving later in the evening after a ferry from Morocco. I would have given it a 9/10 if it hadn’t been a little noisy when trying to go to sleep and in the morning with people’s phone alarms constantly going off - but this was solved by my trusty ear plugs. Hot water took a bit to come on in the morning but it eventually did. They let me store my bags as my onward train didn’t leave until late in the afternoon. It wasn’t in a secure room but I trusted the reception desk guy and the woman present.

Staff was nice and helped with my bike.

I got locked out of the room. Not a big deal at all but just a heads up. 🤣

I have stayed here many times, it is close to the port, the staff are friendly and helpful and the price I think is fair. Also, it isn't too far from the square, which is nice to get some exercise to visit it.

I have been coming here for years and the beds are not that comfortable, really it is sad that they don't invest in their business.
