WHITE HOUSE SORRENTO - CASA VACANZA

This place exceeded our expectations! It is located in a wonderful area, quiet but very close to the city center. It had all the amenities we needed and we were very comfortable. The host was kind and helped us with our luggage upon arrival and gave us recommendations for grocery stores nearby. My kids enjoyed the pool. We will be back next time for sure!

Anna was an excellent host. She had arranged to meet us at the apartment but when we hadn't arrived after 15 minutes (it was a 10 min walk from Sorrento train station) she messaged to check we were ok, then cycled to find us and show us where to go - as we'd taken a wrong turning. Apartment was spacious and clean - Anna showed us how everything worked and talked us through the rubbish/recycling and left us the keys - then sent us a list of recommendations (restaurants, nearest supermarkets etc). The apartment was in the quieter end of town (off a very busy main road) and about a 15-20 minute walk into the centre of Sorrento. You could either walk along the (longer) quieter coast road, admiring all the oppulent hotels (and take some photos of the sunset over the ocean), or do a quicker 15 minute walk down the busy main road.

There were only 3 mugs, and there were 4 of us - so to have a cup of tea in the morning, one of us either had to use a tiny espresso cup or wait till someone had finished with one of the mugs and wash it up. The freezer part of the fridge-freezer had defrosted and was re-frozen so was almost impossible to open the drawers. It seemed some sort of design fault - the freezer was next to the dishwasher and every time the dishwasher was opened, it opened the freezer door too - and we think the freezer hadn't shut properly at some point before our arrival. The shower in the smaller bathroom (with the corner shower cubicle) leaked - the bottom bit of the shower door had come away so the first time we had a shower, the floor was swimming. To stop this from happening, we had to use the hand-held shower only. The pool was closed between 2pm and 4pm and had a list of rules - one of which was "swimming caps are mandatory" so we duly went out and bought a couple, only to find when the pool opened again at 4pm, not one person was wearing a swimming cap. The pool closed at 7.30pm and an alarm went off constantly from 7.15-7.30 to ensure everyone was out. By this time we were having a drink on the balcony (overlooking the pool) so it was a bit off-putting for this siren/alarm to keep sounding.

Great for two couples, both bedrooms have an ensuite, good size & very comfortable. Quiet neighbourhood & felt very safe.

Little bit of a walk into the centre of Sorrento of about 12 minutes. View is okay let down by the neighbouring properties.

Location is perfect just ten minutes walk from the centre in quiet area. Anna and her husband were excellent at managing check in and sorted a couple of problems quickly. We were offered a cleaner to come in half way through our ten day stay.

Only one set of keys between two couples. It caused a few issues when going out at different times. We had no where to empty our bins we were told to leave it on one of the balconies, not ideal having ten days of trash layed about .
