I loved how homely and welcoming Hen Cottage felt from the moment we arrived. The space is clearly very well cared for, and the hosts were fantastic — friendly, accommodating, and genuinely invested in making the stay comfortable. The cottage sits in beautiful countryside, offering peace and lovely views, yet it’s still an easy trip into Lincoln, where there’s a great selection of shops and restaurants.
Honestly, there wasn’t anything to dislike. Everything was well maintained, thoughtfully prepared, and exactly as described.

The location was perfect for me in the beautiful countryside. Down the road from Barlings Abbey and central to all the other areas i wanted to explore in Lincoln with friends who flew in from America. The cottage was lovely, spacious and comfortable. The grounds were also beautiful and I went to visit the chapel next door. The host John was lovely and told me some of the history of the main house and I though it was a lovely touch that his wife had made home made plum loaf which was delicious.

Peaceful and Relaxing Lovely welcome basket including a home baked cake and items in the fridge. Not forgetting fresh eggs from the eponymous hens.
There was nothing I didn’t like.
