About this cabin rental
Welcome to the cozy Beaver Beach House. Enjoy endless blue water views and the spectacular sunrises in this 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin seated steps from the water of Lake Superior on the Au Train Bay. Relax in a wood fired sauna or in the igloo on the beach. Seconds from the Au Train Bay boat launch, salmon and trout fishing is fantastic. ATV and snowmobile trails are across the street. Au Train Beach is within minutes walking distance. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, numerous waterfalls and endless hikes are moments away. The cabin is situated 30 minutes from Marquette and 13 minutes from Munising. There is a bonfire pit with chairs overlooking the lake. Guests must supply their own fire wood. Spend your nights on the porch listening to the waves and watching the Northern Michigan stars. It’s truly a spectacular cabin to relax in and call home for a while! We use Happy Guest property management for rental agreements and liability coverages. They handle all communication after booking.

Overall, our stay was quite good, but there were a few issues with the property that need to be addressed. First is the well water - they did tell us that they recently had a new well, but the amount of sediment made it difficult to do things we expected such as give our kids a bath or use the water from the sink to cook pasta. There were also some clearly unfinished projects or repairs needed - trim falling down, vinyl floor coming up in places, ceiling tile on lower level removed.The location is perfect for hiking and sightseeing, but the house is very close to a main road. Car noise inhibited the enjoyment of the lakeside solitude. The sauna, views (even saw a bald eagle from the porch), and lakeside area were marvelous but some drawbacks for sure.

We loved our stay at Beaver Beach House. It was close to everything in Munising and we spent time chasing waterfalls and did a boat tour with Grand Island Boat Rentals. The beach at the house was very rocky with no sand so it was hard to walk but my two year old still had a blast throwing rocks in the water and rock combing. The home was very clean and the owners were so personable and responded extremely quickly. We did have two mice inside, that we got out, and owners called pest maintenance. It was a great location and an overall relaxing stay!

There is some room for improvement with this property. The owners did a great job with communication and renovations to try to make this house more accommodating however, there are a few things to mention for future renters. There is NO A/C. Somehow we missed that and with 80+ degree weather we were hot. The owner said to open the windows, but some of the windows didn't have screens and the sliding glass door screen was ripped which let mosquitos in at night. In addition, the window coverings are pitiful and need updating to ones that actually fit the window. They are ALL too small to cover the entire windows which lets a lot of light in. Furthermore, there are NO window coverings in one of the bedrooms with a house next door that can look in the windows while you change clothes. All windows should have window coverings that actually fit the window. When we first walked in there was something beeping. After further investigation, we found one of the Carbon Monoxide monitors was the culprit. Contacted the owner who knew something was beeping because the cleaning person told him, but nothing was done about it prior to our arrival. I changed the batteries in the monitor and it fixed the problem. There was not any kitchen cleaner, limited toilet paper, we did run out of paper towels and had to use our own, almost ran out of trash bags but found more after searching. The bath towels smelled like mold. Way overpriced for what you get. Needs better accommodations for guests.
