This is a fantastic vacation spot. We loved sitting on the decks! It is an incredible view, a great spot to watch the sunset, and the surf provides a great relaxing sound track. Our family enjoyed watching a traditional Christmas movie in the entertainment room. Plenty of space at the table for board games and cards. The kitchen is a great place to cook while enjoying the great view. Very lovely, we look forward to visiting again.

Our family enjoyed the home so very much. It's perfect for a family who likes to chill and watch their kids run around all the outdoor paths and find all the homes great secret benches and breathtaking views. We saw a deer in our yard as welll as the best parade of 10-15 pheasant - like birds! The house is great inside and all of us would love to live there!

The home is beautiful and the views are spectacular. Great place to unwind even if you have to work a little, still feels like your away. Enjoyed visiting Hearst Castle, Cambria and Big Sur but mostly enjoyed sitting on the patio with a glass of wine enjoying the views. Our family will be returning in the future. Beautiful home for our family of 6 adults and two children. Great communication with host and property manager. Stunning location. Enjoyed everything from decks to game room and exercise room .

My wife and I, senior citizens, booked this property just for the 2 of us for15 nights for a vacation. We discussed the importance of good security at their "gated and very private" estate with the property owners and were told that there were a number of security cameras around the property as well as a security system in the house if we wanted to use it. We said we did, so they sent us the instructions to arm the system. It should be noted the house is advertised as having A/C. It does not. The manual tells you to open the 1st & 2nd floor windows to create a breeze. You cannot arm the security system with open windows. We had to use an oscillating fan for air at night so the security system could be armed. On the seventh day of our stay as we were sitting on the deck a very large and menacing drone appeared above our heads. It hovered there recording/taking pictures of us. It then moved across the deck and behind the house. Within 5 minutes it again appeared above our heads as if it had circled the house looking for other people. After a while, it went down at the front gate to this property where we heard a car door slam as if leaving in a hurry. This was very disturbing and we felt extremely threatened since this property is located on a remote portion of CA-1 that is a 2 lane road with no shoulder. The perpetrator had to have parked at the front gate where we heard the car door slam. When we called the property owners they said they didn't have anything to do with it. We told them we did not feel secure at their property and wanted to leave, which we did the next morning. We felt they could have at least reviewed the security cameras and reported the car license plate to local authorities, but they did neither. Long story short, we asked the property owners to refund the days we didn't stay there due to this incident. They said they were "torn" between refunding our money and focusing on their profits. They ended up giving us a small refund, but not nearly as much as what they said they would do. A note about the property owners: They purchased this property just 1 yr ago solely as an investment for them. They live many miles away and have stayed at the property ONLY ONE night since their purchase. They seem to be disturbingly disconnected to the property. BEWARE: THIS IS A VERY REMOTE PROPERTY WITH NO CELL SERVICE; THE PROPERTY OWNERS PLACE THEIR PROFITS ABOVE GUEST SAFETY WHILE REMOVING THEMSELVES FROM SECURITY BREACH RESPONSIBILTY.

We thoroughly enjoyed the many thoughtful amenities at this most elegant property. Ceiling to floor glass windows in all rooms provide breathtaking views of the ocean and mountain. Plenty of scenic spots and great eateries nearby (within 1 - 15 miles) to escape. Weather was moderate. Seal watching was one of our favorites. Cambria (~15 miles) is a pretty town with great restaurants and shopping areas. The drive along the coast is breathtaking. All in all, one of our most memorable vacations.

We had a great time at Marinus! The home itself was very private and well laid-out for a group. The great room was the go-to hang-out, but there was also a media room, game room and gym. The property is near San Carpoforo Creek Beach. The most beautiful part of the beach disappears at high tide, but it is a treasure with black sand, caves and tidal pools. A secluded cove is easily accessible about two hours before and two hours after low tide on the southern end of the beach.

The pictures don’t lie. A very modern, extremely well designed house that sits on a bluff just above Route 1 and high above the Pacific. Quiet with spectacular views, but somewhat remote. However, just 25 minutes from Cambria with an organic grocery and a handful of great restaurants. Satellite internet, due to location, but good enough for a working vacation. Open kitchen window to get wifi out to deck due to coated, double-paned, floor to ceiling windows. If you’re looking to get away from it all, this won’t disappoint.

The house is gorgeous and appears better than in the online pictures. The property is secluded and peaceful with the sound of the surf crashing constantly in the background. The views from the main floor with the wall of windows are wonderful, and we spent many afternoons relaxing on the deck. We all had a wonderful stay and would love to return.

We loved our stay. Everything was great. Looking forward to going back. Amazing treat for ourselves.

Marinus is the relaxing retreat you seek. Beautiful spaces, lovely winds, brilliant sunsets...we barely left the home. Beds were incredibly comfortable as were the deck chairs. Thoughtful instructions were given when we arrived. Fun movies in the DVD archive and several board games. Excellent gym! Weights up to 25lbs. We were thrilled! The nearby beach is a private treasure. We are always grateful when someone shares such an incredibly special place. It was exactly what we hoped it would be! *internet warning: we challenged it with 3 college students and one physician using online resources. It gridlocked frequently. This will only be relevant to those trying to work remotely while traveling. Could not find a way to play music in the house, so ask owner if it interests you. Discovered the last night that Netflix and other streaming apps were available in the theatre room (not in living room). Hope this helps!

Fantastic property - extremely well designed and perched on the edge of the pacific. Not too close to much of anything so plan on a BBQ on the deck watching the sunset. Great for 2-3 couples.

A wonderful contemporary home with great grounds. Typical Cabrillo Hwy ocean view. House has everything you might need. Tip----Keep searching to find the exercise room--you have to go through the home theater and the office to get there.

The pictures don't lie: this house has an absolutely stunning ocean view from nearly every room, and a huge porch to enjoy it from outside. High end appliances allowed us to cook some lovely meals (though it may be time to replace a few of the pots and pans). The sense of tranquility was exactly what we needed over the long holiday weekend. Best of all, this was truly a last-minute rental, and the hosts went out of their way to ensure it would be ready for check-in by the time we arrived. Can't wait to stay again!

Enjoyed the solitude and our beautiful ocean views

If you are looking for a place to relax and unplug, this is it. We enjoyed the views from the deck and saw several whales! The bonus was on the last night we saw so many stars and the Milky Way. The house is beautifully decorated and the kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans! We would definitely return.

Marinus is a modern but totally livable, comfortable, and well designed house perched 300 feet above the Pacific. From the deck and indeed from the entire living/dining room area, you have a commanding view of the sea. The bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen are well appointed and maintained, it is easy to prepare food at home or go to the Ragged Point Inn, just a few minutes away. Even the knives were sharp...a first! A great place to relax, decompress, and rejuvenate, especially in the hot tub, which shares the Pacific view. Even though 'off season', we saw whales, dolphins, and array of coastal sea birds. Plenty of places to explore and hike, but the house was sooo nice, we rarely left.

Everything was a 10 from start to finish, we’ll be back

Our stay at Marinus was fantastic. The drive up was picturesque, and arriving at Marinus was just as fantastic. As the gates parted and we drove onto this estate we all were in awe of the majestic architecture and stunning views. The house has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay and room for the whole family. We spotted whales daily and loves the himes nearby. We will definitely be back are are grateful to Maryam for her attentiveness and excellent communication.
