About this cottage rental
Ida-way Cottage, located in the sleepy, fishing village of Cherokee Sound on the island of Abaco. Slow and tranquil, a great place to unwind and escape. A few minutes walk to the iconic Long Dock, beautiful beaches for swimming and shelling, bonefishing flats for the fly fishing enthusiast. Two kayaks included, 235lb max weight. BBQ grill and beach chairs. Separate office space for great workaction spot. Within walking distance, grocery store, shell museum, harbour and gas station. Some local take away food options, info available on request. We are a 40min drive south of Marsh Harbour (airport, ferries to outer cays, large grocery store and liquor store.) 10min drive to Pete's Pub & Gallery. Remote area. Rental car advised. We do not accept rentals over 14 days. Security camera at pergola entrance armed only for guests arrival and departure to monitor check in and check out when host is unavailable.

Great stay at Danette's house in Cherokee. House was very clean and well stocked. Checkin and checkout was a breeze, easiset we have ever had with a house rental. A/C worked well, beds were comfortable and Danette was quick with replies when we messaged. Location in fantastic, just a couple minute walk to the Long Dock and Cherokee Sound. Sunsets are amazing at the dock and kayaking around Cherokee sound was great. The community of Cherokee is quiet, low-key and welcoming. The Cherokee Food Fair is well stocked with grocery items and the gas station at the boat harbor is also stocked with fresh fish and bait if needed. Overall a fantastic stay to get away from it all.

Greatly equipped kitchen. Extremely clean property. Good location, easy 3 min walk to beach and long dock. Cute town off beaten path. Fun to go to Pete’s pub (drive). Good fishing off dock and great beach combing. Was stormy when there so couldn’t use kayaks but they looked great. Air conditioning works great. Condiments in fridge; oil and spices in cupboard. Games, cooler, beach towels provided. Beautiful garden and front porch with bbq.

We really enjoyed our stay in Cherokee! Everyone in the community was very warm and welcoming. The house was perfect for us. It was very clean and well equipped with everything we might need. We enjoyed the local beaches, watched the sunsets on the long dock and had lunch at Pete’s Pub. If you want to stay in a quiet community with an old Bahamas feel to it Cherokee is it!!!

Great place in a very cute and friendly town. Very close to long dock, which is a great place to wade in the shallow waters, especially with kids.
