Moonlights Villas Heated Pool

There was someone to hand the keys to us. The property was amazing, with beautiful views of the greenery. The villa was very beautiful, had ACs everywhere. The pool was warm and perfect, even if the kids wanted to swim in the evening. Lots of parking places. Lots of space for the kids to play.

The villa needs to stock up on water beforehand, as the closest shops are a 15-18-minute walk away. You do need a car if you're staying here

• We had a very friendly and accommodating host that was easily available via Whatsapp at all times. • Upon arrival everything was clean, and towels and bedding was provided. Halfway through our stay we had a cleaning team exchange all the towel and bedding and tidy up a bit, which was a nice reset. • The pool was sufficiently sized and was actually heated which allowed us to enjoy it although we were there in May. • Except for the two other Moonlight villas (which are however right next to each other) the accommodation is situated in a remote area, which allowed us to freely play music outside – even at night (at a reasonable volume) without disturbing any neighbours. • The villa is situated on a hill which makes for a wonderful view overlooking the green landscape and the sea peeking through. It’s around 20 min by foot to the town which can become a challenge when shopping groceries, but that problem can easily be avoided by renting a moped. For longer distances there is a bus station in town that will take you to the major surrounding cities like Chania or Retymno.

• The kitchen was supplied with lots of tools, but pots and pans were supplied rather scarcely. • As we maxed out the villas capacity many of us slept on foldable beds that were a little hard.

The house is very beautiful, really nice materials, great interior design, very comfortable.

The house seems amazing in the pictures, and you expect a service as good as the looks and price of the house, but this wasn’t the case. The house is joined to two other houses that doesn’t appear in the photos, literally next to them (you could walk to the other houses easily), and when we arrived we noticed that the barbecue didn’t have a grill nor utensils, the sink was leaking and one of the four toilets was broken. We contacted the property owner and they didn’t get back to us until two days after, something you wouldn’t expect even in a cheap Airbnb. Eventually, they fixed the toilet the day before our departure. It was very difficult to get in touch with them.
