The Coastal Sands Inn was clean, comfortable and convenient to the beach. The rooms has an updated and modern feel. The management was always ready to help.
The hotel is competitive with other facilities in their price point. A good budget friendly option for a couple or family of four.

My husband and I stayed at Coastal Sands for an overnight stay in Wildwood. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was small and simple and was perfect for us. The location is great as it is just about one block from the boardwalk and was is right across the street from a Family Dollar which came in handy. I would recommend this place for sure and we will be returning in the future.

The location is great . The room was cold and bathroom door would not close. The staff was awesome and when I didn’t have things in the room they gave me them. Television reception was not good always went out. Overall, if you want to just relax during offseason this your place.

UNEXPECTED $200 CHECK IN FEE!
I stayed here for a weekend work trip. I live out of the area and had a few late nights, long days, and early mornings right in a row and figured it’d be easier to stay down here. I went to this place because on the booking website the price was low enough I could get two nights for the same amount other places had for one night and with it being Cape May Singer Songwriter conference, hotel options were already limited.
I get there around 9pm and there’s 2 other parties checking in that are in front of me. The guy at the counter tells the first guy there’s a $200 security deposit. They try to run his card, it doesn’t work and he steps outside to make a phone call. Next guy comes up and tells the counter he didn’t know the security deposit was $200 and says he doesn’t have the money in his account to cover that and wanted to change his reservation. The guy at the counter yells at him “If you were smart enough to find it on the website you’d know!” Meanwhile the guest is like, “no, it wasn’t.” He tries to then cancel the reservation but is told he’s not getting refunded so whatever he paid for the room is now just gone. If he can’t cover a $200 fee, he’s probably already hurting for money anyway. Not only was the hotel staff shaming him for that, but then another guest waiting to check in ALSO joined in and was saying “well I used to work at hotels and there’s always a security deposit! How do you not know that!” She wasn’t wrong, however, most security deposits are between $25-$75, that I’ve encountered and I’m on the road a lot. On top of that, the security deposit is just so you have a record of a person’s credit card number. If you’re an employee or business owner, you need to be the one in control of these situations and bullying a customer and allowing other customers to join in with you is pretty awful.
I go to check in and right away he goes “you look really familiar!” I’ve never met the guy before but I used to work for a pretty popular tourist attraction in the Crest from 2010 to 2017 and did a lot of the networking with businesses, especially the hotels, I know a bunch of Chamber of Commerce people in the Wildwoods and Cape May. Wouldn’t shock me if he’s seen my face before. I just said I used to work down here and did a lot of networking with hotels for our attraction.
Anyway, he runs my business card for the $200 dollars and the card automatically declines and I get a security notification (which happens sometimes with hotels if the price is over a certain amount). I tell the guy “can you try to charge it for $100?” He changes the amount and runs it again and it works. Didn’t argue, didn’t talk back to me, nothing. Just ran my card, printed my receipt and got me my room key. When I did get into my room (which was also a hassle), I checked my reservation email, I checked the page on Agoda where I made the reservation. I went through ***, ***, ***, every reservation site that had this as a hotel, NOWHERE does it say the security deposit is $200. It tells you a credit card is required at check in, but doesn’t tell you the amount. I then go to their actual website, and again, no of the security deposit amount anywhere on the website. Every hotel I’ve stay at even if it’s in the fine print, they still tell you the amount they take for the security deposit; that is not hidden information. Pretty wild way to make an extra few hundred dollars on single *** hotel room. This place really needs to be audited. I’ve stayed at quite a few hotels in Wildwood and Cape May because even after moving out of the area I still get performance offers down here, I’ve never seen something like this before at another hotel. Even ICONA Cape May didn’t charge me a $200 security deposit when I stayed there for a week back in 2016.
As for the room-
The room key didn’t work; all the rooms have a contactless key card to open the locks. This particular room, the lock as broken so you had to use a physical
