Since we had prior information about the accommodation, we can say that there were no surprises, everything was known and suitable for us. The pigs walking around the houses were more of a joy than a nuisance. The pigs were polite and when asked to leave, they listened. The reception was beyond expectations, the host was just leaving, but still came back and we got a bottle of local wine. He also allowed us to park at the cottage.

Beautiful area

It was a very cute hut in a beautiful area, the pigs were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. I didn't see any of the people working there but I wanted to relax and not be bothered so I liked that a lot.

Sound proofing was non existent and the bathroom was quite far away from the room I was a bit apprehensive about the bricks on the parking lot and it was a bit of a challenge to park on a hill to close the gate. Neither are deal breakers but it was annoying.

Feel like a homeless bum for 75 euros a day

glorified wooden box with a metal plate on top, out in the middle of nowhere. I'm surprised I even had water. Freezing water, I had to walk 25 meters in the cold to get to it. Expensive as hell. Should be 10 euros per day not 75. Have to avoid walking in pig shit. Empty as hell, barely 3 pigs, 1-2 cats that you barely ever see, not a soul in sight. Just bugs and birds. Cold as hell.

Good place for warmer weathers

Nicely situated in a vineyard with lots of nature and animals, facilities were good and enough for everyone.

It doesnt have heating and the insulation is not too strong, in colder weathers it could get a bit cold.

There was no staff available that afternoon so the shop was closed. To drink some wine in the wine-yard, we had to bike back to a grocery store (10 km total) for a bottle of wine. Would have been nice it was told ahead.

The environment is amazing! We loved the nature and all of the animals. The hosts are extremely nice and are always happy to help. Had an amazing stay!

The beds are not that comfortable, but for a short period it wasn't a problem at all. Further the facilities need some attention but overall the place feels like home.

This was awesome! Friendly pig with a cat were hanging around with us, we spent the perfect evening listening to birds and watching the nature was falling asleep. Everything was clean and it’s totally fits it’s description and price

a fantastic stay.

The location. Loved being in the countryside surrounded by nature. Such a great retreat but also easy distance to be able to do a bit of sightseeing from with the hire car. Loved the simplicity. Also loved the pigs! We definitely want to return for another visit!

couldn’t balance the shower… it was either way too hot or too cold! …warm/cool would have been fine. Glad we had our own towels as the ones provided were only very small.

Great place in the middle of a vineyard. The huts stand close to each other but it was very quiet. The kitchen hit and bathrooms were not far and everything you need was there.

It is like camping but sleeping in a garden shed. As long as you expect this it, is OK. It is work-in-progress and everything is rough but mostly functional. It seems expensive for what it is but everything in the region is more expensive. I was looking forward to the welcome bottle of wine from the vineyard that many reviews mentioned, but we did not receive one.

Beautiful location at the vineyard, a welcome wine was much appreciated, and staying in a giant barrel was actually comfortable.

On my bike trip through Europe, this was one of the more unusual accommodations I stayed in. Believe it or not, the owner is growing wine near Rotterdam. In addition, he rents out small houses and barrel-like small huts in which I stayed in. There is a certain excentricity to the place, including two free roaming pigs and only 12V electricity, but my stay was actually very pleasant. The owner gives guests a bottle of his wine, a very nice gesture. As I was drinking this wine from Rotterdam in front of my barrel on a nice quiet evening, I thought” This place is not so bad.” The night was restful and quiet. There are shower and toilet facilities, both worked.

Exceptional

We loved staying at Wijngaard Domein de Vier Ambachten, and are looking forward to coming back. We stayed in autumn, and it was extremely comfortable and cozy, with a fireplace for ourselves to enjoy, with the beautiful vineyards in the background. The location was exceptional, and the cabin we stayed in felt reserved just for us. In addition, they had plates we could use for the food we brought, and grills which we used for dinner. There were also little stoves outside our cabin we could use, with chairs and extra paper for the fire. The bedroom was very comfy with hangers to hang things and a cute table and typical Dutch decoration. The hideaway felt like the perfect getaway, especially to be with nature and their cute cat that was walking around and asking for pets! We can't wait to come here again, and we highly, highly recommend staying here. We thank Fred so much for his hospitality and care for the beautiful breakfast and the exceptional services and cute touches to the entire place. Loved the art and decorations and beautiful nature side to stay in. Can't wait to come again.

Unieke locatie onder de rook van Rotterdam waar je kunt relaxen in een rustige en groene omgeving.

Bijzondere locatie om te hebben overnacht, je hebt niet door dat je eigenlijk heel dichtbij de Botlek bent! De omgeving buiten de wijngaard is mooi landelijk, de wijngaard zelf een unicum. Wij overnachtten in een tuinhuisje met een prima comfortabel bed. Er zijn voldoende wc's en douches en hoewel oud, wel schoon. Wij hadden voor in de ochtend het ontbijt als extra besteld. Dat werd met zorg voorbereid, inclusief een pannekoek! Plus wat lokaal vers fruit, want er groeit van alles: pruimen, vijgen... Ook leuk zijn de 'huisdieren' die er rondlopen: wat varkentjes en twee katten. Zorgt voor een extra gezellige en relaxte sfeer. Kortom, zoek je iets bijzonders voor niet al te veel geld? Dan is een overnachting bij Wijndomein De Vier Ambachten een aanrader.
