We like Valmorel for both the skiing and the way the village has been designed with distinct hamlets. It's a purpose built resort but done really well. The property is in a great location for skiing and walking into the middle of town when not skiing. With enough snow, it's possible to ski right back to the apartment block. It's nice to have a separate bedroom in a ski apartment, albeit one without much space around the bed. The balcony is huge and a great place for warming up before going skiing - it gives the bus passengers a laugh!

For good skiers, there's enough skiing here for a few days, but you'd be pushed to find new things to do for a week's stay. With regards to the property's position, the only slight difficulties are the need to go past the Valmorel barrier to collect the keys and then there is a lack of anywhere to pull in off the road by the apartment to unload a car at the start and end of a stay. The apartment is very functional but without any personality or little touches that some owners have. There is no salt and pepper or oil left in the kitchen for example and no foil, clingfilm etc. Note also for British guests: you are expected to clean the apartment to a level where the next guests can come straight in. Not something most Brits would expect when renting an apartment - empty bins and do washing up, yes, but not a full clean of the bathroom, loo and itchen.
