Rustic River Cabin Getaway

The cabin was awesome. Had a girls trip with lifelong friends of over 40 years. We enjoyed the disconnecting and relaxation it offers. There is no cell service so it was nice to chill, play games and catch up and reminiscence of our friendship over the years. The river is a small walk down the road. We enjoyed hanging out there and floating along the beach area. There is a rope swing that even my girlfriend had to climb. The host was responsive to our texts when satellite service was available. One suggestion when using the oven or stove is to turn the vent on as well. When driving through Annapolis, stop and get your ice, any drinks you may need, and any other items you may need. There is a small store and a Dollar General in town. All in all, the laughter that was shared was the best of all. Thank you for having us!

From the pictures it might be hard to tell, but you are out in the woods. If you are looking for peaceful and away from the chaos of the modern world, this is your place. My favorite part was sitting out on the porch in the mornings drinking my coffee,enjoying watching and listening to the birds. We didn't get to enjoy much of the river while we there, due to weather restrictions, but it is a nice secluded spot. To get down there, I'd advise to make sure you have a decent vehicle, due to beach/sand situation, and the same goes for the drive to the cabin. It's down a dirt back road, so slow going is your best bet. Since it's out a bit, phone coverage was non-existent. Make sure to do any info/communication in town if you need to. That being said, if you are someone that has a hard time disconnecting from the digital world,it might be a bit difficult adjustment. However, if that is just what you are looking for it's right up your alley.

Everything was perfect. Clean, well maintained and as described. The river was about a 3 to 5 minute drive. Just make sure you're ok with not having phone reception. The disconnect was needed.

This was our second time on the property. The first time was two years ago when my granddaughter turned 18. My daughter rented the cabin that time. I rented the property to celebrate her 20th birthday. The property is pretty remote and that is what makes it so charming and appealing to my family. It is very close to the Black River where my family has roots on one of the upper forks (West Fork) of the river. The cabin is well supplied with whatever you may need for a short stay. You just need to bring you food, drink and amenities. The surroundings are peaceful as is the large wrap-around porch. We will definitely be back at some time in the future.
