Lovely house. Artful development of stone home. Everything worked well. Stove, shower... Outstanding for me was the 'conservatory' - a glass porch room which allowed me to feel I was in the garden. Quiet.

Personally, I can drive narrow unlined roads well enough. This particular road into Great Strickland was not for me. Winding, down into dips. Blind turns. Of course, it all works out. I can back a trailer up a hill on a slant, but pretending that driving the road equalled acquisition of some desirable skill wasn't true.

Everything a beautiful place to stay relax and Everything you could possibly need. From booking to leaving the whole experience and stay was 10 + couldn't ask or want anymore. The village is perfect and the area great for sight seeing. Will be back for sure.

Couldn't of asked for a better stay x

I never leave reviews but wow this little cottage deserves one. It was so beautiful, clean & cozy in a lovely quiet village. From the moment we arrived it just felt like home with everything anyone could possibly need down to having milk in the fridge, tea, coffee and even some biscuits and sweets for us. This was a last minute booking and we requested a cot for our young baby and nothing was too much to ask for, Matthew replied to us really quickly and had the cot and all the bedding set up ready for us by his Mum, they even left a highchair too. It had the comfiest beds and pillows we have slept on staying away, we really couldn't fault anything. The only negative was not booking for longer. We had the pleasure of getting to meet Liz before we left as we were late checking out and she couldn't of been nicer about it, she seen I was in a fluster packing up all the babies bits and she was so understanding and kind. Not putting us under any pressure to pack up quickly and get us out, she took the time to chat with us and thank us for staying aswel as going over and beyond by holding our baby for a cuddle while we packed the car up. Thank you both so much, we will definitely be back.

Great cosy cottage with all the essentials, booked on very short notice but the cottage was clean and tidy, host was very welcoming and easily reachable and very accommodating. Great location for nearby waterfalls and hikes. Highly recommend

Brilliantly equipped homely cottage

The decor was excellent, all comforts were thought of; high quality rugs, scented candles, range of toiletries, comfortable beds. It was so well equipped, everything was thought of and more. There was a range of herbs and oils, hot drinks, wonderful fire. It was such a peaceful place. I could happily move in here. The garden was beautiful too. Perfect in every way.

My only suggestion would be add some egg cups and a cake stand. Having lit the fire on a wet afternoon, the atmosphere lent itself to afternoon tea in the front parlour!

Weekend at fern cottage

The cottage was amazing, clean, comfortable. Every inch was well thought of from kitchen.. to shelves with family games which went down a treat with the little ones!

Only down side was the fact only local shop was A drive away. But other than that nothing can be negatively said.
