Zeer gastvrije en attente gastvrouw. Keuken had meer keukengerei dan mijn eigen keuken en zeer compleet.Het grote appartement ligt rustig (appartement erboven was niet verhuurd) en ligt op noord-oosten helling (ochtend zon). Gastvrouw spreekt geen Engels maar wel Frans spaans en portugees, maar konden we ons wel redden met de paar Franse woorden die ik kende en google translate. Appartement heeft geen verwarming en was het fris toen wij er begin mei waren maar konden we de openhaard gebruiken. Prima locatie voor ons als uitvalsbasis voor uitstapjes in de omgeving.

Parkeren via smalle hellingswegen kan wat lastiger zijn als je het niet gewend bent.. TV heeft nog geen streamings apps en niet aangesloten op de wifi (wifi en 5g was prima).

The area and the views are incredible. It's a beatiful place. The house is EXTREMELY well equipped and clean. You won't miss anything except maybe a washing machine. The kitchen has everything you can think of, in good state and ultra-clean. I've been in many properties and this is by far the best equipped (kitchenware, cleaning products, toilet paper, whatever! even charcoal for the bbq). The hosts are a wonderful, kind couple. They only speak Portuguese and we managed to communicate in Spanish/Portuguese without many issues. They really made us feel at home, even let us try out the produce from their garden, eggs from their chickens. So nice! Some extra info that is not obvious: it's a single house divided into three completely functional apartments with their own access to the common areas (entryway, patio). The hosts live in the ground floor. We rented the top floor and it is quite nice but only access is through a good set of stairs (no problem for us though). The house is built on the mountain with an intricate path to get there by car or walking - expect hard maneuvers if getting inside by car. There is a parking with easier access just nearby so you can also leave your car there and go down walking, but at some hours it gets a bit rushed (maybe due to mass in the church that's nearby).

The downsides are much smaller than the upsides. That said: - Beds are quite large but a bit hard. The main bed had a footboard which was beautiful but uncomfortable for tall persons like me - Access by car is complicated - The lake is not near enough to go walking with kids (long walk, no sidewalks, steep slope) and parking near the beaches can get quite busy in Summer so expect to get up early - Getting to anywhere outside the lake / river, Rio Caldo etc can take quite some time by car through dangerous mountain roads, due to the near zero visibility in tight turns and the speed of some local drivers
