We had the most wonderful stay at this charming coastal home. The house itself is a beautifully preserved historic gem. It was thoughtfully decorated, full of character, and spotlessly clean. What truly made our visit special were the hosts (Jane and her husband), who were warm, welcoming, and full of helpful local tips. Jane was very good at communicating and responded quickly to our questions. The area is also lovely. Quiet, beautiful, and perfect for a summer getaway. Highly recommend!

Jane and Tom were wonderful hosts. Warm, inviting and making themselves available for any and all questions. Their home is from 1820, so a lot of local history. A hop to Wickford and its restaurants and charming beach. 20 minutes to the state beaches and the seafood restaurants in Narragansett and Gali

The host is wonderful and friendly. Even gave us some of their clams when they went clamming. The house was roomy and easily accommodated our party of 8. We especially liked the kitchen which was roomy and well stocked. We unfortunately had many days of rain which didn’t allow us to make use of the grounds. Despite that we had fun.

In August, my family stayed at Jane and Tom’s farmhouse, and we were more than happy with the property and with Jane and Tom’s hospitality. Right after arriving, they showed us around, letting us know about every reasonable detail concerning the house and neighborhood, and thereafter were always quickly accessible by phone if we had any questions. This house is beautiful. The pictures on the website are true to life. It is on a forested road that provided for pleasant morning runs, and would also be great for bicycling. From the backyard, you can see only one other house in the distance. Very private. There are six bedrooms in the house, a few TVs, a grill on the back porch, a moveable outdoor wood-burning fireplace, an outdoor shower to use when you return from the beach, and even a rope tree swing! There’s ample space on the back porch for eating and hanging out. The kitchen opens out to the great room, so the space is perfect for entertaining. Two of the bedrooms are on the first floor, and the remaining ones are on the second.Jane and Tom are very much pet-friendly, which we really appreciated, as we have two dogs that love to vacation with the family. And while they’re pet-friendly, the house is impeccably clean; they do a great job with the upkeep. The location of the house is good. There are multiple farms, supermarkets, and a Wal-Mart in very close proximity. Inside Scoop has wonderful ice cream and we ate dessert there almost every night. Newport is less than 25 minutes away, and has some good beaches with mild-medium surf. We went to “Second Beach,” which is in Middletown, just past Newport. Scarborough Beach is also very popular, and it’s large and clean. That’s in Narragansett, less than 30 minutes away. The mansion tours in Newport are amazing, especially the Breakers, which was a summer home for the Vanderbilts. I highly recommend you spend a day in Newport while you’re there.Overall, I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for New England charm and comfort and a good time. This house feels like home. That’s important. When I’m on vacation, I like to feel like the house I’m staying in is my house. This place perfectly embodies that spirit.
