My family of 5 had a wonderful, relaxing week here. Being able to view and have access to the water was incredible. We were able to go out in the early morning or late afternoon. The house's location has easy access to grocery stores and eateries on surface streets as well as freeways. Downtown is less than a 5 minute drive as well as the Oceanside Pier. There is a nice park within walking distance as well as a elevated walking path across the street with various access points.
My husband and I slept in the front bedroom on the top floor. We took turns on the pull-out couch with our youngest which was comfy. Our teens took the bedrooms on the lower level. There's some minor wear and tear on the house, though nothing that took away from its charm or function.
Guests can get to the beach over a rocky path though it was a little challenging for our youngest (6 y.o.). My teens and I were able to navigate it (even in the dark, with care). There is a public access point, less than a block away with stairs and a few within walking distance. The ocean is LOUD though the windows and shutters do block it out for those who might find it bothersome. Street traffic was generally light, it didn't cause any issues when sleeping in the front bedroom. The area is active with walkers, runners and bicyclists. We didn't have any issues with noisy neighbors in fact we met one at our departure and he was very pleasant.
The garage is small. We fit our mid-size SUV rental (Hyundai Santa Fe) in it the first night after unloading, there wasn't much room to exit the vehicle. We parked on the street for the remainder of the time without issue.
Pros:
-Comfy beds, with extra linens
-Nice indoor sitting, tasteful and minimal décor
-Access to wash and dryer (not coin-operated as one review noted) with some complementary detergent pods
-Well-equipped kitchen (except for one, see "cons"), incl. a small amount of spices and oils for cooking; we especially appreciated the more casual plates and children's dishware/utensils.
-Lots of puzzles and books, including some for children
-Beach toys and boards
-Cleaning supplies (We had to sweep at least once a day because of the sand we trailed in.)
Cons:
-Noticeable pet/litter smell in the laundry room, didn't permeate the house
-Slight musty smell in main living room when we first entered home, didn't linger for duration of stay.
-For our active family the paper towels in the kitchen weren't enough. We went through two rolls easily. We didn't find the dishtowels under the sink until the day before our departure.
-I do wish there was a better lock on the main door which leads to the garage. It doesn't lock on the interior side so if you turn the knob, it opens. (This was a safety concern specific for our son, though it may not be one for other families who have less curious children. We felt safe in the home otherwise.)
-The TV in a little challenging to figure out.
We would most definitely stay here again.

The house is located within walking distance of restaurants, breweries, the Buccaneer Cafe which serves the best breakfast burritos and coffee options! We had the pleasure of watching dolphins every morning from the balcony! The kitchen is well stocked with all types of glass and beach ready plastic ware, easy to have a day at the beach right in the beach sand backyard! Tons of sand toys for building castles, a convenient hose at the bottom of the stairs for rinsing off! The upstairs hose in the closet was super convenient too! We loved the fire pit too! Overall, it is a great home to vacation in and offers plenty of books and puzzles to occupy your down time! If you plan to work there, the living room sofa table extends up to a desk, which was really handy!! Street parking is not a problem, there are always cars parked on the street so drivers are very careful! The garage is best for a small suv or car, but it was nice having the extra outdoor covered space for bikes or water toys if you bring them. Access to the water, there is a pathway and a rail about half way down, at the bottom you have to climb down over some big rocks, this would be hard for older adults, but on Cassidy street there are steps to the beach that provides easy access. Highly recommend!
