Great hotel - strongly recommended.

Great breakfast - huge choice. Our table was away from the main room which was a shame. Did like the lunches though!

You did need to factor in the near by train. You can hear the trains in the morning - not too loud but a little annoying and you sometimes have to wait for the train to pass to cross the train tracks.

The water closet was separate from the sink and shower. You had to walk across room to go wash hands after using the restroom.

Historic hotel unfortunately not renovated in a period style but perfectly fine

Price of $700+ for one night was exorbitant; trains stopped running between Salzburg and Munich and I was forced to spend an extra night in Salzburg….really feel that the price (which is now listing as €150) was a captive audience price; unethical.

No way to sleep due to air conditioning noise

A perfect location with a professional caring staff who put the guest first and make you feel it.

From the moment you arrive to the Hyperion you are made to feel #1 from the porter to the receptionist to the concierge and in the morning from the servers to the chef. It is honestly the happiest group of people you want to see first thing in the morning and last thing at night as you go to your room. The breakfast is wonderful and cooked to order and the dinner chef is amazing. He's created some new dishes which are just wonderful: the pumpkin strudel is so refreshingly yummy!

Only thing is there could be cold water in the mini fridge.

A Worthy Splurge

We spent 3 nights here and had a fantastic stay. We were pleasantly surprised when were upgraded to a nicer room. Such a beautiful and comfortable room! The tub was heavenly! The free minibar and coffee machine in the room was a great touch. The breakfast was amazing! The location is fantastic. So close to Mirabell Palace and old town is just across the river. A special hotel and a luxurious experience!

Location, ambience, room size, comforting, the food and room service dining experience.

The cleaning, housekeeping don’t clean the room very well for 2 days and they left my coffee cup unwashed, also the hairdryer bag was so dusty. And that was a disappointment from a 5- stars hotel.

This hotel is an excellent choice for a visit to Salzburg. It is very central, great rooms and a fabulous breakfast. We really enjoyed our time there and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others

The prices in the bar were a bit excessive in our view. The hotel is also quite expensive but this is typical for hotels in Salzburg as we found.

Nice hotel but ..

The hotel is nice and clean

The room we stayed at had a bad ac, and the TV wont work. Their suggestion was to fix it next day- I had to literally request changing the room because the receptionist did not realise that you can mirror your phone to the TV or you can sign in into youtube. The cleaning replaced nothing but towels, although the mini bar is free they didn’t put anything. Not even water. No toiletries either.

Beautiful Hotel between city center and train station

Beautiful hotel! I really liked that the mini bar was included in the price. High sealings, comfortable bed, the staff was very helpful. Close to train station, just 10min walking. Good breakfast!

I would say that maybe the mini bar refill was too early as I was getting ready in the moring. Normally, it would be the best when no one is in the room, the same moment as room cleaning.

Beautiful property with wonderful staff

The rooms were gorgeous and so large. The beds and linens were great and the a/c and WiFi worked well, which seems to be an issue in most European cities

Lovely and attentive staff. The bar and other common areas are beautifully decorated.

This was the second time we stayed at this hotel. Whereas the rooms are very stylish and elegant, they are extremely uncozy. The black-tiled floors may be meant as an elegant statement, but just come off as sterile and thus the rooms always feel cold.

Not 5 stars standard hotel

The location

I had high expectations for this hotel, but unfortunately, my experience fell far below what I would expect from a 5-star property. The air conditioning in the room was extremely poor, making the stay uncomfortable—especially given the hot weather. To make matters worse, room service left a dirty cloth in my supposedly clean room. While I appreciated the kind gesture from the receptionist who upgraded us to larger rooms, the new rooms had even worse air conditioning, making it nearly unbearable. Due to the discomfort, I decided to check out a day earlier than planned. During check-out, I encountered another issue. A staff member at the front desk tried to charge me an additional €1,200–€1,300 for the upgraded rooms, which were supposed to be complimentary. She seemed unaware of the situation and, when I tried to explain, she responded quite rudely, saying, “I’m doing my job—wait until I finish.” I mentioned I was in a rush, but her tone remained dismissive and unhelpful. After making me wait around 15 minutes, she finally said, “Oh, I see that you’ve already paid for the rooms,” as if she had no idea what she was doing or how to check a basic booking record. It was frustrating and unprofessional. I understand every hotel can have off days, and some guests might have had better experiences than mine. However, based on the service, the condition of the rooms, and the overall handling of issues, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel or consider staying here again.

Average corporate stay and difficult to find staff sometimes.

Location

Lack of storage and lack of wow factor for a 5 star hotel. Bar shut by 10pm on a Saturday night despite being advertised as open till midnight. Booked a double room but arrived to a twin. Had to wait for housekeeping to correct although we were offered a drink in the bar as compensation.

Fell in love with Salzburg because of this magical hotel.

Location was amazing, breakfast was stellar and overall this hotel is definitely worth 5 stars. I travel a lot and there are some properties that are 5 stars but are actually not at all 5 stars, this one certainly is and goes above and beyond. The best part was also the comped mini bar which was just the chef's kiss on the top.

Beauty of a property with nicely appointed rooms.

It’s time for them to get new mattress pads. I even told them it needed attention but I don’t think the housekeepers understood my concerns about the pills on the mattress top that could be felt through the sheet.

Amazing experience, comfortable large rooms and excellent service.

Location was excellent… walkable distance to old town, Mirabel Gardens and Panorama Tours… The breakfast is excellent!! Room 113 was large, very comfortable, heated bathroom floors. Rooms were cleaned everyday and fridge in the room was well stocked and no extra charges for the drinks. The lounge with access to drinks and snacks anytime is fabulous . Also if you want quiet time .. this lounge is perfect with a nice balcony.
