It was in a good location to reach several nearby attractions and restaurants without much driving or walking. We didn't use them (weather was rainy), but towels, beach chairs, bikes, sandals, etc. were all provided for a nice trip to the beach or nearby state park. We highly recommend visiting the nearby Brookgreen Gardens with their hundreds of statues, a local zoo and farm, miles of walkable paths through the gardens, and beautiful ancient trees dripping in spanish moss. They don't advertise it, but the tickets are good for 7 days, so we visited over multiple days of our trip on a single ticket purchase.
