het terras was subliem, de zee vlakbij, de ondergaande zon, ook de zonsopgang, voor vroege vogels! het appartement was ook tot in de puntjes uitgerust met olie, kruiden, wc-papier, koffie! en het welkomstgeschenk erbovenop

The location is amazing, and the sea view - just breathtaking. The house is spacious, clean and reasonably well-furnished. We were taken by extremely hospitable and generous hosts, who greeted us with amazing local pastries (enough for two breakfasts!) and a bottle of wine. The proximity of the semi-private beach and amazing tavern only improved our experience. Overall, we had a great time!

In sake of fairness, we need to point out a few things that didn't meet our expectations. It is important to point out they are hardly deal-breakers and there is nothing that would spoil your vacation! Don't get discouraged - just prepare in advance and manage your expectations. Two bathrooms in fact means one full bathroom and one toilet (with toilet seat and sink) - there is only one shower, which might be an issue with a party of six. Most of the equipment is quite dated: some beds squeek with every move, the stove can be quite capricious with the heat, etc. Finally, the house sits directly on the approach path of Heraklion airport, and there is a plane flying over your head about every 20 minutes. Luckily the noise is muffled by the sea, and very easy to get accustomed to. Yet again, all those minor discomforts pale when compared to the amazing location and generosity of the hosts!
