This gorgeous, spacious house is ideal for family gatherings, reunions, church retreats, or simply a magical Hawaii vacation! Nestled near the Hamakua Coast Scenic Route, it's only 11 miles away from the vibrant town of Hilo. Enter the home onto the grand lanai (porch) with an 8-seat table, perfect for enjoying morning coffee, conversation, outdoor dining, and games. This large lanai offers a wonderful view of lush gardens and a peekaboo ocean view in the distance, surrounded by fruit trees and tropical jungle.
Through the front doors, you'll be greeted by our huge dining room and kitchen. Behind the kitchen is a large living area, perfect for family board games and TV watching. The Wi-Fi provides high-speed internet. Note: There are no TV channels, so bring your streaming login info!
The home offers five large bedrooms and a comfortable common area upstairs. There is an additional bedroom, office area, kitchen, laundry room, a large conference room* ( for rent only) and dining room downstairs. A newly built 20' x 23' huge patio at the backyard is perfect for a big families and groups!

-While this home does not come equipped with air conditioning, we offer ceiling fans and portable fans to enhance your comfort during your stay.
-Air conditioning is provided exclusively in the dining room and conference room. The remote controls are conveniently positioned on the wall next to the light switch.
BOOKING OPTIONS:

4 bedrooms 8-10 guests $459/night
5 bedrooms 10-12 guests $529/night
6 bedrooms 12 -14 guests $599/night
Four bedrooms 8 guests is the minimum that may be booked and there is a two nights minimum.
The six bedrooms sleeps a maximum of 14 persons in beds. 12 persons are included in the 6 Bedroom rate. Contact us for special arrangements for larger groups.
Special rates apply for Christmas and Merrie Monarch Festival. Please contact us for detailed rates during these periods.
Guest access
Please know this is a working orchard and the orchard manager will come into the orchard on occasion. Do not be alarmed if you see a truck heading into the front of the property. Please check with our Orchard Manager Ray before picking fruit.
SHORT TERM VACATION RENTAL REGULATIONS
A. Quiet hours shall be from 9pm to 8am during which time the noise from the Short Term Vacation Rental shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors .
B. Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non-quiet hours shall not be more excessive than would be otherwise associated with a residential area.
C. Guest vehicles shall be parked in the designated onsite parking area.
Other things to note
- The average weather in Hilo is 84°F/64°F. Most of the Hilo residents do not install air conditioning in their houses.
- Please read and adhere to the house rules booklet at the property.
- Housekeeping may be available for an additional fee for longer stays.
- Early check-in is available for an additional $40.00. Let us know if you would like to check in your bags early.
There are no parties or events allowed under any circumstances. Only registered guests are allowed on the property. Non compliance with the rules will result in guests being immediately expelled from the property and forfeiture of all rental fees
We do have geckos that like to hang out on the lanai and will occasionally enter the home. We coexist happily with our gecko friends as they eat mosquitos and less desirable critters. Just know that they are part of the flora and fauna of the Big Island.

We had a great time staying at the sugar plantation house. We had 6 adults and 4 kids, including infant twins, and the extra space inside and out was a stress reliever. The kids loved checking out the waterfall and stream nearby, and taking walks down the long driveway. Each bedroom has a bath and the layout, altho a bit chopped up, was perfect for separation of bigs from littles. Highly recommend if you want a secluded spot with room to roam.

Great house for large families and groups! The kitchen has everything you could ever need to cook a meal for that group. Big porch with table and view for eating that meal. Only possible complaint is it can get a little sticky in the summer with no A/C, but we knew this going in and would still rent again after.
