Villa Carmela - Pool and Garden

Great location. Fiumefreddo is a very friendly town. Found a local wine store and grocery within a few blocks of the villa. Grounds of the villa are immaculate. Although in the center city you feel like you are in the country. Our 12 friends did nothing but rave about the Villa.

This is a really great villa. The house is big and each room is en-suite with a good hot shower and plenty of towels. Beautiful grounds, a lovely pool and super friendly hosts that are easy to communicate with and help with any excursions and things you want to do. We had an excellent evening with a chef and waiter that was unforgettable. They also helped us book an excellent wine tour. The location is good for touring the eastern side of Sicily and there is plenty of off street parking. Overall it was perfect for a good group.

Villa Carmela is a lovely modern villa in a charming if slightly scruffy but totally authentic Sicilian town. The accommodation is first class. Large rooms with modern showers and comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen with modern appliances. Lots of seating options inside and out. The pool area is beautiful and has a view of etna. Entrance is through a private electric gate and there is plenty of parking. There are lots of places to eat and drink within walking distance which was very appreciated by the group. The town is also very friendly and reasonably priced.

This villa was definitely not what we expected it to be. It was not as portrayed in the listing. It was clean although they have a problem with ants in the bedrooms.Bedrooms are poorly equipped. No proper storage for clothes. Bedrooms were large and had plenty of room for a dresser, a chair to sit and a desk or table but there was nothing. Felt like a university dorm room. No blankets on the beds. Waited 2 days for blankets. That is unacceptable. Management company clearly not doing its job. Very sparse on furniture. Bare walls, no artwork. Felt very unfinished. Washing machine but no dryer. Management company gave mixed messages about drinkable water. No ice maker in fridge. No machine to make a pot of coffee for large group. Only a single pod machine. Definitely not equipped efficiently for large groups despite having 6 bedrooms. BBQ was a joke. No information provided about amenities close by such as groceries, good local restaurants. All would have been helpful. Location is isolated and quiet. Great view of Etna. We felt we paid for a 4 star property but it was only a 2 star! I was very disappointed and felt tricked by the pictures in the booking listing.
