Dartmoor Reach is a fabulous place to stay! We stayed here for 3 nights (me, husband, and 16 month old daughter) in the Henhouse. The cabin was well equipped, clean, and cosy with sink, gas hob, all the crockery, cutlery, and pans you could possibly need as well as a couple of games, some books blankets etc. The shower block was equally well presented with a proper loo and good sized shower. The water pressure is excellent and the water nice and hot! I'd say it's better than our shower at home!
The farm is beautiful and there are some swings, a play area, mud kitchen, and, of course, animals! There are chickens, ducks, pigs , and alpacas (plus a tortoise and guinea pigs). There is an honesty shop with animal feed, eggs from the hens, sausages from the pigs etc. so you can buy some feed and go and feed the animals whenever you like. Our daughter is a bird lover, so was most keen on the chickens and ducks so we had a picnic by their enclosures, but also enjoyed feeding the alpacas (although her little hand was too small to hold enough for them to be interested š). Belle was a stand out amongst the alpacas, very cheeky, gorgeous, and a bit pushy. Quite the character!
Overall, we had a fantastic experience and highly, highly recommend a visit! There's plenty to potter about doing on the farm (feeding animals, playing, walking etc) and lots nearby (we highly recommend Stover Country Park). We will definitely be visiting again!
I would have preferred a slightly softer mattress but that's purely personal preference!

Absolutely amazing place to stay. The lodge was beautiful and so were the surroundings. The ability to reconnect as people while staying here was fantastic. I canāt wait to go back. Josh and Natalie are so friendly and welcoming along with the alpacas.
That I couldnāt stay longer

The location was excellent and the food hamper was brilliant. The cabin was a good size and comfortable and the outdoor shower was fun!
It was nice sleeping with the blind open with a great view of the country, alpacas and when clear the starry night sky.

My husband and I had the best time away. And the Alpacas were absolutely amazing. Josh and Natalie are so lovely. Our hut was heated and had everything we needed. Only moan, which isn't really a moan. šš They need new pillows in The Henhouse. Oh, and a blind on the shower/ toilet out house. šš
Nothing.

Nature and everything around. We had quite a stressful journey down but we were blessed with wonderful weather. It was lovely to sit down on the decking of our cabin and see our kid running around playing and taking it all in. Our cabin was lovely and cosy and it felt like we were in a log cabin somewhere in older times from a movie. We had a fire pit at night and we all were just talking for hours looking up at the stars. Joshua the owner is a very nice guy, you can tell heās passionate and what heās created for people. Thereās lots to do on the farm and Joshua also recommended the local pub for food and drinks, plus the beach.

For a last min booking what a lovely surprise to be away from all the hustle and bustle and enjoy the nature. Kids loved the animals and feeding them. The alpaca's are so cute and content with people around them and being fed, along with the other animals was such a lovely experience. The accommodation is full of character and very functional and def an experience to be showering outside shower room! Natalie and Josh are so hospitable and made us feel so welcome.
not much not to like here, for me personally I would have preferred to be in the cabin with a shower than external, it didn't bother the boys though!

This was the perfect place for children to run and play, and our youngest still misses it and wants to go back.
Although the accommodation was small, it had everything we needed ā bathroom, kitchen, beds, and storage space. Outside, there were plenty of animals and wide open space, creating a wonderful atmosphere to connect with nature. The children could feed and see animals like alpacas up close, which was an amazing experience for them. The host had also prepared lovely touches such as a fairy house hunt and an outdoor play kitchen, making it a truly delightful place for kids.
It was incredibly cozy and comfortable, making our stay even more enjoyable.

Excellent communication from Josh and Natalie. We received a warm, friendly welcome. We loved the breakfast hamper, would highly recommend. Our cabin was clean, comfortable and well thought out. Everything you need is there. We were in Hen House and loved the covered porch area for sitting outside. Bed was comfortable. Loved the alpacas, waking up to them grazing outside your cabin is a really special treat. Great location, easy to find. Just a lovely place to get away and spend a few quiet days, relaxing and switching off from the outside world. We will definitely come back and stay again. Would book the Hen House again but would like to try one of the other cabins too. Plus the red double decker bus looks really cool, would love to book that too. You can rent a bbq and they have charcoal and wood for a fire in the evening. Loved the honesty shop. Their bacon is amazing. Probably the best I've ever had! We bought some to take home with us. We very much look forward to returning, thanks Josh and Natalie for a lovely relaxing stay xx

It was homely, cosy and in a beautiful location. Everything within the hut was good quality. The kitchen has 3 hobs and a fridge, it was well equipped and very clean. The double bed was very comfortable, the bedding and towels were soft and fresh. The direct window view to the field of alpacas was the best. The hot shower outside was invigorating - my daughters were a bit unsure at first but both loved the experience. The owners are very hospitable and responsive and communication and instructions for self check in were detailed and straight forward. Thanks for looking after us, we had a truly relaxing stay and hopefully weāll come again x šāŗļø

Dartmoor Reach is a wonderful place. My partner (27) and I (28) loved the cosy cabin we stayed in, which we found to be sufficiently equipped for a small place. Our cabin, Bluebell, had a comfortable elevated bed with ladder access. Underneath the bed was plenty of space for two more people to sleep, but we used this space for storage. The cabin had a toaster, kettle, cafetiere, three hobs, sink, complementary tea and packet-coffee, packet milk, salt and pepper, and cleaning utensils. That was great because we were easily able to cook for ourselves. There was also a toilet in a separate room and a rather fun outdoor shower. The temperature inside the cabin was pleasantly warm.
The highlight was of course the alpacas! It was absolutely fabulous to wake up in the morning with a view of alpacas grazing in the meadow in front of us, who we continued to admire during our breakfast outside on the porch in front of the cabin. The alpacas are very friendly and approachable, and for £2.50 you can purchase alpaca feed from the honesty shop to feed and interact with them. We also have to shout out the ducks and chickens who also gave us good company.
We enjoyed having a fire pit, which we were able to rent from the honesty shop from which we also bought wood. The honesty shop also provides small barbecues and some rather tasty homemade stout.
The location of Dartmoor Reach is brilliant for anyone looking to spend some time on Dartmoor.
Josh gave us really clear instructions for our self-check in. Josh is very friendly and communicative and was easy to get in touch with and quick to respond. We appreciated him dropping by in the morning to check up on us and have a nice conversation.
It would be nice to provide a few more cooking essentials such as sunflower oil and basic herbs, in addition to salt and pepper.
The lighter in the cabin was out of lighter fluid and there wasn't much kindling besides the fire starter and paper, which meant we struggled to get the fire in our firepit started and the large logs properly burning. It would be good to include some kindling and matches in the bag of wood in the honesty shop.

Everything. The perfect after school getaway. The place had everything we needed. The beds super comfy. I booked the girls on the farmer experience and id highly recommend it. Josh the farmer was so friendly and they helped out with the chicks, ducks, feeding the alpacas and collecting eggs honestly was a highlight for my girls.
The outdoor area is stunning, a mud kitchen to play with, tree swing, little stumps to sit around the fire. We had a BBQ even though it rained a little bit. We loved it all.

Everything! Had a beautiful time with my family here. Our kids were free to run and explore (doesnāt get better than waking up and feeding alpacas in your pyjamas!). A magical place run by magical people. 10/10
Wanted to stay longer than the 2 nights we booked.

Amazing unique experience for both adult and child. Heated huts are well equipped, cosy and done to a high standard. Josh and Natalie were so kind and helpful, always on hand to help. Great honesty shop of farm produced product and so tasty. Kids got to roam in safety independently, feeding the animals and exploring. The place reminded me of years ago when iPads didnāt exist and kids played out for hours! Only regret is not booking for 3 nights !! We will be back, thank you.

Dartmoor Reach was amazing, we wish we didnāt have to leave. The children enjoyed seeing all the animals and playing, being children. To wake up to the sound of birdsong and the view was something special, a complete escape from busy working lives.

The shepherds hut was very cosy and comfortable. The boys loved the two tier beds and their den underneath. It was very nice to have tea and coffee and a fridge and inside toilets. The boys loved feeding and petting the Alpacas who were very friendly. They also loved the big swing! We had a lovely fire and the hut was nice and warm on a wet day. Josh and Natalie were very friendly and helpful. Thanks
Itās very tricky but at night it was difficult to avoid the poo in the field. Didnāt want to walk it in the hut.

Dartmoor Alpaca Farm was a real gem. It's not far from the M5 but far enough to feel remote and peaceful. Josh and Natalie were amazing hosts, brilliant communication from start to finish and nothing was too much trouble. As a family of 4 the hen house was really cute with all the facilities we needed for 3 nights and it was lovely to have access to bbq grills, Alpaca food and beautiful breakfast meat, eggs and milk. Loads of great places to visit nearby .Becky Falls is definitely worth visiting. The waterfalls are beautiful and the kids loved the animals too. We saw wild Dartmoor ponies and visited Brixham Harbour which is only 30 mins drive. Hubby was a sceptic of glamping on a farm and nearly missed this trip due to work.....admitted after he would've been gutted to have missed it! š¤£
We loved it all but sorry we missed the pigs.

Would highly recommend this place. The property exceeded expectations, it was clean and comfortable and in a beautiful, relaxing setting. It came very well equipped with everything you might need for your stay. I found we packed a lot of stuff we didnāt use in the end as the hosts had thought of everything. The kids loved waking up to the alpacas roaming around outside and there was lots to enjoy in the local area too.

The whole experience was great from start to finish. We were made to feel right at home and the our little boys didnāt want to come home! The hamper was a fantastic addition along with the fairy door hunt.
There whole stay was amazing and would recommend to anyone. Only addition we could think of is maybe some wheel barrows or similar to help get at our stuff to the hut :)

The cabin was v well equipped, comfy beds, great shower, everything we needed. Location was outstanding, great for exploring Dartmoor but it's the free range alpacas that steal the show. Sitting on the decking watching them do their thing is so relaxing
, you can buy animal feed for them, they are v friendly . They also have chickens, sheep, guinea pigs and pigs (you can feed them too) Josh and Natalie were great hosts , we purchased a food hamper with the best bacon, sausages, eggs (from their animals) and home-made marmalade . Excellent instructions for checking in too, i cannot recommend this place highly enough. We can't wait to return.

Lovely sharing the field with the alpacas. All very peaceful and secure so children can go off on their own to explore and find the chickens and play area. Thoughtfully equipped. Recommend the well marked circular āAnt Trailā through nature reserves at the end of the lane (also route to the pub and the childrenās playground at Chudleigh Knighton). A short drive to Stover Cycle Path - to Bovey Tracey Swimming Pool or to Newton Abbot. Many thanks Josh.
Granddaughter loved the ādenā, the childrenās bed area, under the adultās - Granny not so keen when it came to bedtime stories!
Understandably you canāt take the car into the field so everything has to be carried in. On arrival, Josh was there to help, but I would have appreciated having access to a wheelbarrow or some such, especially when departing.
With young children, felt 4.00 pm is quite a late check in, and 10.00 checkout is early, especially if there for only a couple of nights as we were.
