Top floor apartment close to the sea with quiet balcony

Very nice, reformed to a high standard in bathroom and kitchen, bedroom comfy... Also flexible with check in and out... 5 minutes walk from centre...easy, but quieter than the town centre All good

We had the pleasure of staying in this apartment for just over three weeks in June 2022. We were not disappointed at all. The hosts were most helpful leading to our stay and particularly attentive to our needs and queries. The apartment was exactly like the pictures in the VRBO listing, very clean with all appliances in excellent working order during our stay. We especially appreciated the spacious kitchen, modern bathroom and open concept living room. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by our concierge, who showed us around and made sure we had what we needed. She was available throughout our stay and kindly helped us out with a couple of questions that we had. The beach is close by and you can easily walk along the Oceanside to get to the market and the other shops and restaurants in the downtown core. The train and bus stations are also close by in case you want to explore some of the nearby towns such as Biarritz, Bayonne, L’Espelette or many hiking sites. All in all, a stay at this apartment is very highly recommended !

Spacious but disappointing in key areasThe unit was spacious and roomy, which we appreciated. However, several issues significantly affected our stay.One of the main reasons we booked this property was because it was advertised as having a washer and dryer. Unfortunately, there was no dryer. This was a huge inconvenience—we had to air dry clothes for days, which took over the balcony space and made it hard to enjoy. The balcony also had a lot of spider webs, adding to the discomfort.The fridge had a strong odor and was filled with other items, leaving little room for our own groceries. The freezer had so much frost buildup that it was difficult to open the drawers. The interior overall felt dusty and didn’t seem thoroughly cleaned upon arrival.The listing mentioned plenty of free street parking, but we often struggled to find a spot nearby.Also, many of our questions to the concierge went unanswered, so I had to contact the host directly. The host later got defensive about the number of questions, even though they were all about basic operations and comfort—things that should have been clear upfront.Overall, the misleading listing and lack of responsiveness and cleanliness took away from what could have been a great stay.
