Alkea house

The situation is idyllic! Maria and Kosta were most welcoming, even though, due to an IT glitch, they weren't expecting us! They were super quick in getting the house prepared for us before it got late. they provided lovely fresh fruit and water for us whilst we waited. During our stay they kept us informed of anything we needed to know. They were so kind and offered to take our bags down to the car and bring any heavy things that we had brought (water bottles etc) up to the house for us as our car was totally impractical for the situation! The house is so lovely, furnished well and has all the amenities you need, sheets, towels, hair dryer, washing machine, TV and even air conditioning. There is a lovely electric hob to cook on and ample pots and pans. All of the crockery and cutlery was nice and fresh and clean The number of stars visible in the night sky is amazing. We didn't have a telescope but reclining the chair back and opening the star walk app on the phone was great for us and our son. I would love to go back when the weather is cooler and explore the village and lanes a bit more. If I get to visit again, I would definitely take my good camera-there is some amazing wildlife around-and a pair of binoculars to see the far reaching views in more detail. It would be great, of course, to see Maria and Kosta again too!

For me everything was perfect -The location, far from the madding crowd, up a mountain with the trees and being closer to nature, such beautiful views. And the nights with the stars. The accommodation, again we needed/wanted for nothing. Some might not like the access to the property -steep hill- think about his before you book. However, for us it was very good gauge of how much fitter we need to be!!
