Villa Nikis

It is so spacious and quiet and the pool was really big!

Nothing! We wished it could be nearer the sea or nearer to more places to walk to but we happily booked taxis most nights.

The Villa was beautiful in a lovely location with a superb swimming pool and stunningly well kept gardens. 10 min drive to the centre but a couple of local amenities within walking distance. Our host, Lamprini, was fantastic, very welcoming and always available if you needed anything. She gave us some great recommendations and was very generous with some supplies, especially produce from her garden. Etouri also checked in with us a couple of times to ensure everything was OK. Would highly recommend a stay here if you want to get away from the busy towns.

The host was fantastic, Lamprini was super helpful and friendly-giving is great recommendations of beaches, things to see/do and eateries on the island. The villa is stunning, everything a family could need for their stay. The pool is fantastic, lots of toys etc to use too. The location of the villa was perfect-25 minutes from the Chania airport, 10 minutes in to Chania and local beaches, as well as easy access to main roads for further away beaches. Highly recommend and hope to be back one day :)

We found this house at short notice because our plans changed. The pool was gorgeous. there was two outside eating areas - one terrace via in the house. one by the pool. there was so much space outdoors with terraces also at the top of the house. We had two boys 4 and 7. it felt safe yet plenty of space to run around. we only lived downstairs. upstairs there’s a 3rd bedroom with its own contained kitchen and living space and terrace. This was great because we needed some quiet space away from the kids during the week (we needed to work also) . But as a family we stayed on the ground floor mostly and it worked really well. the open plan hall way and dining area would work very well too in cooler months. We visited a lovely traditional restaurant within walking distance one eve (it had a childrens play area too) and there’s an easy mini mart. But otherwise we stayed in the villa - this was week two in Crete. it had additional things like games and puzzles for the kids, toys for the pool, some chocolates, fruits, water and wine on arrival. We also loved our host - Lamprini - not only was she super lovely but she took time to show us round the house. told us everything we needed to know. She gave us tips regarding the restaurant and supermarkets nearby. and there was one ‘sticky’ window shutter but her trick sorted it for us. She was available to help (though we didn’t need it). there’s also a very professional folder in the property also with advice and help etc.

The showers aren’t super modern - ‘telephone’ style on a wall mounted hook - it didn’t bother us at all. I do think recycling bins in the utility room may be a good idea for the future - but again not an issue.
