Bluebeary Bungalow

I loved the cabin. It was cozy, cute and comfortable. It was just the right size for our group. I also liked how close it was to town, but not on a busy road.

What I didn't like was more to do with Booking.com. While there is a mention about having a 4x4 vehicle in the very long webpage about this property, it wasn't very clear that there is a steep curvy drive and it is not scraped. There had been snow the weekend before and it was almost impassable to the top, even with a Subaru all-wheel drive vehicle. I wasn't expecting snow to still be around after a week and for it to affect getting to the cabin. The other thing was Vacasa charged a large fee to bring a pet. It was 1/3 of the total I paid for the weekend. Booking.com needs to do a better job of communicating this if they are going to list Vacasa properties. It is on Vacasa's website, but I didn't know until I had already booked the place. The cancellation would have been as much as the pet fee. Lesson learned on that one. My only other complaint was the garbage had not been picked up for over a week, even though the cabin info said it was picked up on Tuesdays. It was obvious no one had been up there since before the snow the weekend before. We had to take our trash to the city dump because it wouldn't fit in the dumpster.

Very cozy cabin perfect for spending Christmas in. The management company even put out a few Christmas decorations to add a special touch, which we all thought was very nice.

The bed in the main bedroom was only a full, which felt pretty small for my wife and me. It was also several degrees colder in there than the rest of the house for some reason. But both issues are really kind of nit-picking.

I like the proximity of cabin to main town. Early check-in worked for us very well. Clean & organized home. Loved that I was able to bring my 2 giant schnauzers with me. I tell you, they had a great time hiking!! Tired dogs- Happy dogs :)

Horrible smell inside cabin. The smell was like a dead animal, I think it was coming from outside. It got better when I turned AC at 64 degrees all day and night. I would like to see a lower to ground bed. My husband had a hip surgery and beds are way too high. Comfortable but high to the ground. He had difficulties getting in/out of bed

very nice. good location. roomy for 6 of us.

cob webs in corners. dust on kitchen appliances and bathroom mirrors. food splatters on front of dishwasher.
