About this house rental
WELCOME to Kanagawa & Zen Home of the Heights. We are located in the popular and convenient Heights area of Houston, Tx. A short drive away will take you to all major attractions in the city with plenty of things to do just walking distance away. This is the main house and if you have more people in your group you can also rent the guest home on the first floor which is a separate listing. We give you key to join both. PRO decorated and furnished to give a minimalistic ZEN vibes w/ max comfort. Please note this is the main home plus garage. The downstairs studio suite is a separate listing with a separate entrance. There is no interaction between the downstairs studio and the main home and parking is also separately designated.

This place was immaculate. It had all the things we needed for a weekend stay. Very large flatscreen tv’s which my husband liked and bed was very comfortable. The stairs gave us a workout which got tiresome but we knew that going in. My husband liked the massage chair and if we had more time we would’ve used the inversion table. Would like to stay here again. Highly recommend unless the stairs would be a problem for you.

Beautiful home in a great location, walkable to restaurants, coffee cafes and watering holes. Traveling as a family of four with pre-teens, Kanagawa & Zen LUX provided ample space for us to spread out. The home is one of the cleanest I have rented and is well decorated. One note for future guests to consider, the owner does rent out a room on the first floor (neither can access each other's space) and the owner is upfront about this in his listing. We could hear light noise during the day coming from the unit so if this would bother you, I would suggest renting out the third bedroom to avoid noise/surprise.

Property was just as pictured, very clean and had everything we would need. The checkin and out process was easy and we will definitely stay there again!
Note: We did travel with a 2 year old and didn’t think about all of the stairs (no fault of the owner). So would plan on bringing 2 baby gates if needed!

Very nice property. As another review stated, the rental is only for the top 2 floors of a 3 story townhome. The owners were clear about this, but will say it is a bit of a “twist”once arriving on property and seeing there is only a thin hall door with a makeshift lock separating the downstairs rental from the upstairs space rented.
Zero problems while there with this type of set up, and we ended up renting the studio a few nights for peace of mind while there but probably would not rent with this type of split setup again as the prospect of having a stranger in pretty close proximity did throw off the zen of the upstairs floors/renting a townhome overall.
