The Stables

A beautiful setting in which to stay and relax for a few days. It was very peaceful in the property and all around. There are lovely walks and attractions in this area although you absolutely do need a car to get to them. The hot tub was a nice facility and we enjoyed using it each day.

We couldn't understand why the hot and cold taps in the kitchen were round the wrong way, rather unnecessarily. We ran the left hand tap for several minutes on the first evening, waiting for the hot water to come through and then assumed that there was no hot water! The curtain in the room was old and didn't do the place justice; it would be a nice improvement to replace it with black-out vertical blinds. Also, because the room was bathed in light by 5am each morning, we felt that the 2 roller blinds at the windows could really be improved by replacing them with black-out blinds. As many previous guests had written in the comments book inside the property, there really ought to be a nice sign at the top of the driveway by the road so that you knew you had arrived at the correct place. The patio area looked quite neglected during our stay. Many plants had died or been pulled out with only bare earth left in some areas.

The views were beautiful . Host was attentive. Simple easy place tp stay. Would be better at peak season.

Fabulous views. Small but self contained accommodation.

Internet connection was intermittent. Once connected it was relatively stable but sometimes took 10 minutes to log in. The property is about 4 miles from any main roads. Roads are often single track, which can mean a lot of reversing it you meet others. Also means you are not out of 2nd gear for a lot of that distance, and you are constantly trying to look ahead to be able to react.
