The first floor (a historic landmark) of the Posthalterhof was renovated in 2019. The goal was to optimally combine historic and modern elements across 254 square meters. New bathrooms, box-spring beds in all 4 bedrooms, an open kitchen with a gas stove, Wi-Fi in every room, flat-screen TVs with Netflix and Prime, and Alexa in the dining and fireplace room—yet the special charm of the old walls has been preserved.

Cook together at the gas stove and enjoy a meal with wine and good music around the large dining table while savoring each other’s company.
Or, after exploring the area, chat, play games, or watch TV by the open fireplace in the historic fireplace room.

This historic property, suitable for up to 8 guests, features 4 bedrooms, of which the Brunnenzimmer and the Kutscherstube have separate entrances. The Höhlenzimmer adjoins the Bergzimmer and is accessible only through the Bergzimmer.
A large table and a grill for 12 people are available on the private terrace. Dogs are welcome here.
For Christmas 2021, we opened our new sauna area for all guests of the Posthalterhof. In our large garden, there is a vaulted cellar, approximately 500 years old, built into the rock. Here, our guests can relax in an extraordinary atmosphere in the sauna, which accommodates up to 6 people, and in the hot tub. And in the secluded outdoor area, in the covered lounge corner with a fire pit, they can listen to music and enjoy the magnificent view of the castle.
Our garden and the sauna are located on the first floor and are accessible via a staircase inside the house.



The Posthalterhof, built in 1683 by the House of Thurn und Taxis, has been renovated with great attention to detail and offers an extraordinary ambiance within its historic walls. Antique furniture and modern amenities in the bedrooms, the newly renovated bathrooms, and the fully equipped, open-concept kitchens are stylishly combined. Additionally, Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs with Netflix and Prime, and Alexa devices are available in the dining and living rooms.
In addition to the first floor (a historic landmark), which can be rented for up to 8 people, the attic (Burg Maisonette) accommodates up to 6 people. On the first floor, there are 4 apartments that are ideal for 2 people. The Ahrquelle apartment offers a cozy bedroom and living area with a small kitchenette and bathroom in a space of approximately 25 square meters. The Georgstor apartment, at approximately 55 square meters, also features a couch, a large kitchenette, and a spacious bathroom. The two newly renovated apartments, Jakobsweg and Eifelsteig, have direct access through a door inside the apartment to their own small terrace with a dining table and grill. The Jakobsweg apartment, measuring approximately 35 square meters, has a studio-like feel thanks to its separate double bed and large couch. The Eifelsteig apartment, at approximately 30 square meters, features a cozy bedroom and living area with large armchairs for relaxing. Dogs are welcome here.

Guests staying on the first floor have their own terrace with a large table and grill. Guests staying in the attic have access to the garden on the first floor, which features a terrace and a large table with a grill. Guests staying in the “Ahrquelle” or “Georgstor” apartments can also use the terrace in the garden, which is equipped with dining tables and a grill.

Two private parking spaces are located right next to the Posthalterhof on the first floor for guests. Above the garden area, three additional private parking spaces are available. Bicycles and motorcycles can also be parked securely.
Additional important information:
There are a few stairs inside the ground-floor apartment. The 4 apartments for 2 people are located on the first floor and can be reached via the old staircase in the hallway or the staircase from the courtyard. The Burg Maisonette vacation apartment is on the second floor and features many exposed beams. Due to its character and construction, our house is not
