Moorea Lodge

We had an amazing 6-night stay at Moorea Lodge and would happily return. The house is spacious, beautifully presented, and exceptionally well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing holiday. Falling asleep each night to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore was simply magical. A special thank you to Stephanie, who looked after us so well during our stay. Although our breakfast groceries were initially forgotten, she quickly resolved the issue and supplied a wonderful selection. She was always friendly, responsive, and available whenever we had any questions or needed assistance. The location is fantastic, right on the waterfront. While the beach directly in front of the lodge was a little too rocky for us to swim comfortably, it was only a short walk to the beautiful Temae Beach, which has crystal-clear water and was perfect for swimming and relaxing. We would definitely recommend hiring a rental car. It's really the best way to reach the accommodation and to explore the island, as there is so much to see around Moorea.

The only challenge we encountered was finding the lodge on arrival. Some of the photos are not correct. There are very few street signs, and the final access road is unsealed with some large potholes. We'd suggest the owners mention that guests should have mobile data or Wi-Fi available to receive Stephanie's directions before arriving. We didn't have internet access until we connected to the lodge's Wi-Fi, which made locating the property more difficult than it needed to be. Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay and provided the perfect base for exploring Moorea. Thank you, Stephanie, for helping make our holiday so memorable.

Great location, right on the water (though not suitable for swimming) and within close driving proximity to restaurants and attractions. Big open space; clean; AC in the bedroom; washing machine and dishwasher are a plus. Wifi is decently strong. Good kitchen for cooking, though lacking in basic items like a can opener, etc.

The living room area can get quite hot without any sort of ventilation (no fan, no AC — doors open wide to the ocean but the heat and humidity can be tough). Bed in the oceanfront room is stiff and the pillows gave me terrible neck pain. Most notably, we were awakened by a blaring house alarm at 4am with no idea why or how to turn it off until we called the owner who provided the code. Even after the alarm was turned off, it beeped periodically for about 24 hours before a professional could come disengage it entirely. The property manager, who said the alarm could be triggered by humidity (??), was slow to reply, and when I voiced my frustration she told me that the alarm issue was technically not her responsibility to resolve. Truly bizarre. It’s a lovely house but I would find another property if we visit again.
