About this cottage rental
Formerly a "Thompson Cottage", this two bedroom, 1 bath cottage nestled on the Maine coastline overlooking a working fisherman's harbor. One floor living with large living area and stone fireplace. Short walk to the center of New Harbor or desirable Back Cove. Open deck on the back to watch the lobsterman go out with the sunrise and come in with the sunset. Located near Harborside #2, cottages can be rented separate or together for larger parties. Dogs considered with owners' permission and additional $75.00 fee. New dock added in 2025!

We enjoyed staying in this 2-bedroom cottage with lots of unexpected homey touches! We appreciated the comfortable furniture, spices in the cupboard of the fully-equipped kitchen, brochures of nearby restaurants and other attractions, and plenty of wall hanging hooks (my main complaint about most hotel rooms!). A full deck with chairs and a table overlooks a peaceful, working lobster-boat harbor. All-in-all, everything you need for a relaxing, pleasant stay in a beautiful location.

The location was perfect- enjoying the harbor views from the deck, walking our dog and playing in the yard. The cottage was simply but nicely appointed. We will stay there again.

Beautiful area and right on the water. VRBO listing did not state linens were not provided but a backup confirmation email did let us know so we were prepared

The location is desirable. It is centrally located along the coast; it's a beautiful area with interesting sites; there are good bakeries, restaurants (look for hidden gems!), shops, etc. We enjoyed watching the lobster boats going out and coming in. The property manager is available, helpful, and responds quickly.
