We have stayed at Mountaineer before. Usually in one of the newer rooms. This time, lodge was the only ones available. Room *** . It was very outdated. New shower surround but peeling paint on the ceiling in the bathroom. Shower drain clogged so when showering, we stood in water that was covering the tops of our feet. Dirt in all corners of room and bathroom. Desk chair was cracked and peeling pleather. King bed had a fitted sheet for probably a queen bed on it. It obviously didn't fit and was a struggle throughout the night to keep the mattress covered. When buying drinks on the casino floor, they were always different prices. Didn't matter whether we had the staff get them for us or if we went to the bar ourselves, 2 of the same drinks were always different prices. Jack & Coke and Peach Schnapps & orange juice- sometimes $9, sometimes $10, sometimes $11. When I mentioned it to both the bartender and one of the waitresses, they both acted like it wasn't a big deal. The blackout curtains didn't block the light sunlight very well. The attached picture was taken at 6:00 am. Once the sun is up, you'll not be sleeping much. Which is terrible when the check out time is noon. I would definitely think twice before booking at Mountaineer again. There are other casinos nearby and all about the same cost. For $***/night, you can find nicer rooms. I'd go somewhere else.

We stayed for a night because we had a function attend nearby. The rooms were spacious. It was mostly clean but there was dust on the dresser and desk and a bottle cap on the floor near the bed. The public areas were clean and the pool and patio were nice. Plenty of parking. Some staff were very friendly and helpful but others did the bare minimum. Overall a good stay.

They all need updated when I picked room it said tower then read lodge on checkout.
