Comfy Studio with Shared Backyard near Racecourse

As far as my work needs go - great location and more than adequate accommodation. Spacious, modern and comfortable

The maintenance of the gardens and outside property in general has been neglected. Rubbish bins are usually overflowing and rubbish strewn around the bin area - verifying ID through the automated software can sometimes be difficult Would also prefer there to be a small washing machine in the unit, rather than a shared outdoor one

I stayed in studio apartment A for just under 4 weeks for my placement was located in the Brighton area. The Studio room is spacious for one guest and I had family and friends visit me throughout my stay. The layout and presentation of the room was very accommodating and I was able to prepare my own food with the facilities given to me in the kitchen. The dining table is small but it can be folded out to double its size if needed. The bathroom was also designed in a modern way, however the sink takes majority of the bathroom shelf space. The couch pull out bed was easy to use, its sheets are located in one of the cupboards next to the kitchen space. I'm quite short so I did have someone else taller to help me grab a few things and rearrange the shelves that were reachable to me. I did have to contact the property team a few times about internet issues dropping out for a couple of days but that was sorted when the team reimbursed me for data usage. The TV provided in the room was also smart so you can use streaming platforms like Netflix. The beds were comfortable including the couch bed too. The location of the apartment was a short drive away from a main strip of restaurants and other shops including woolies. It did make it easy when I needed to restock on supplies. There were construction workers who came and went for a few days during my stay, they were fixing another apartment across from mine and needed to turn electricity and water off a few times. They were friendly and did let me know in advance though.

The driveway coming into the property is deceivingly steep, it scratched the underside of my hatchback a few times coming in and out or the driveway. If you have a low grounded car like mine, enter the driveway on an angle to avoid unpleasant scrapes on your car. The washing machine and dryer are located next to studio apartment A, it is a shared space among the other apartments on the same property. I didn't have an issue when I wanted to wash my clothes, but be aware that other guests may be using the sashes washer dryer when you may need it. The dryers lint collection box was also full and ruined a batch of my clothes, making them darker in colour than they originally were. Please check this before using the dryer. The apartment itself was clean but if you're planning on staying for more than a week I suggest you bring your own vacuum. There are teatowels and cleaning rags provided but they wont last any longer than a week. In saying that, there were a few mysterious stains on the fitted bedsheets and pillow cases that were there before my stay. I'd suggest you check before closing in for the night. I did have an issue with one group of tenants who didn't follow the rule of one car space per apartment, so be aware of where you park your car as there is no designated car space for each of the tenants.

cleaning fees are quite high but as it was lovely and clean and in Covid times making sure cleaning is of a high standard is important.

Initially couldn’t get heat pump to work so very cold- no onsite help - finally realised remote batteries needed replacing - at our cost & time! Very stressful as we thought we’d have to move with no vehicle & getting dark & prepaid!!
