Old Hunza inn

Overall, my stay at Old Hunza Inn was pleasant and I got my room upgraded with an outdoor terrace by the Front Desk Manager (***) which turned out to be the most wow-factor of the stay and establishment as well. The positives: - The location of the hotel is perfect - right next to Zero Point, Hunza Serena Hotel and a 20 min walk to the Karimabad Market with plenty of shops and restaurants and an all together authentic experience - The room I got upgraded had an absolutely lovely outdoor terrace with crystal clear views to Golden Peak, Diran Peak and Rakaposhi. I had my breakfast here every morning and chilled out plenty here with music and just taking it all in. It was highly relaxing and I can highly recommend rooms with a terrace here! - Lastly, the Front Desk Manager *** was extremely efficient, a proper multitasker, very helpful in terms of arranging whatever I needed. We had plenty of interesting conversations about the surrounding areas, his recommendations and we shared plenty of common interests. He’s a real gem for this place without any doubt. The negatives: - Nothing was ever done or in place you can say on its own. I had to ask to have basic requests such as changing the bedsheets, cleaning the room etc. I would expect that to happen as rule rather than an exception. I would ask *** to sort these issues and he managed it all with urgency. But it didn’t seem like it’s something which is a part of the hotel service by default. Whether it's the most superior room or standard room for that matter. - There were a lot of issues with no water when you needed it the most and wanted to take a shower. And there were plenty of incidents where the electricity in the room would stop working at the most inconvenient times as well and often it would take hours before it would get sorted. This was a huge inconvenience and not something I would expect in a hotel of this standard. Definitely something which requires improvement. Even when the electricity did come back on the A/C didn’t work once during my stay. I managed as I’m used to hot climates and in the evenings the weather was such that A/C wasn’t something I needed to get a proper nights sleep. But again it’s just something which should work if and when needed. All in all: I really enjoyed myself - especially the stunning terrace view, but the issues described were just unnecessary inconveniences which shouldn’t be present and something which needs improvement. A lot of props to the staff - especially Basharat to try and sort what was in his hands whenever possible.

My stay at Old Hunza was amazing, all the services were top notch, atmosphere was friendly, the views were stunning, the staff and food was great.

Staff is helpful especially Bashu!!

It is a reasonable option if you are willing to stay with low budgets, the manager Mr. Liaqat is a gentleman and he takes care of guest’s comfort very well. However warm water and availability of electricity are major problems that can ruin your trip and stay. Breakfast is good and staff is friendly, rooms are clean and views are good. Everything is justified within the pricing structure
