Guest Access:

Key safe is located at the property and details are given 3 days prior to arrival.

The Neighborhood:

Situated just half a mile from the property is the local BKSA Kite school and national training centre. The centre offers lessons in kiteboarding, powerkiting, kite buggying, kite landboarding, hydrofoiling, stand up paddleboarding along with a variety of group activity days.

The house is only a few minutes’ drive to the medieval Cinque Port town of Rye for shops, pubs, and restaurants.

Why not take the opportunity to reconnect with nature by visiting the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. Here you can discover the wildlife in a mosaic of coastal habitats- shingle, salt marsh, saline lagoons, coastal grazing marsh, freshwater gravel pits and reedbeds. Explore the ever-changing coastline and military history, or simply enjoy a walk beside the sea.

The area also contains considerable historic interest with military fortifications from the 16th, 19th and 20th centuries, a lifeboat disaster and evidence of people’s early efforts to defend the land from the sea. The flat, open, and historic landscape is popular with visitors. It can provide an incredibly special experience. There is a good network of footpaths that enable much of Nature Reserve to be visited from access points in Rye Town, Winchelsea Beach and Rye Harbour.

Why not bring your bike and try out one of the local cycle paths, from Rye you can pick up the National Cycle Network Route 2 just after the last few houses on the right-hand side? The cycle path follows the course of the road for the most part, dipping inland a couple of times until crossing the road just after the sailing lake. It then cuts across the sheep fields, on a tarmac path, arriving at Rye at the road bridge.

Getting Around:

To reach the property you can call a local taxi and be there is under 5 minutes or alternatively jump onto the 102 bus which will take you directly to the kite centre and then it's just a ten minute walk to the property, just ask the driver to let you know when you have reached the kite surfing centre.

This property was absolutely perfect for what we needed: a quiet respite on the water still close enough to essentials. The host was extremely communicative and considerate, and the whole process was effortless. We’d had some concerns about the road right outside, but the traffic was minimal and fairly quiet, and we had no issue with getting across to the steps to the beach. Our GPS did suggest we get to the cabin using an unpaved path behind the row of properties—there is literally a driveway to parking on the back and side, so ignore those final directions if given by your GPS.

Lovely property - perfect location for walks. Overall perfect little property - lovely holiday.

Well appointed chalet, everything you need and only couple of minutes walk to beautiful sandy beach. Views over the marshes are stunning, but..... For me, I was disappointed at the location right on the 60mph limit road. Motorbikes and cars took full advantage of no speed cameras and this did detract from the otherwise peace and great beach location. I stayed with a small dog, and couldn't open the patio doors or use the outside space as even though she doesn't tend to stray, felt too risky with the fast road only metres away.

Lovely little cottage across from the beach, with expansive views across the fields beyond. Light and airy, great sunsets. Quiet and relaxing but close enough to places like Rye, Dungeness, Bodiam for those wanting to explore.
