The Barn by YourHost Nanyuki Kenya

Between the booking and the end of our stay we received no less than 25 (twenty-five) emails from this company : "YourHost" (You have a message from The Barn by YourHost Nanyuki Kenya) with repetitive and increasingly demanding requests, such as the payment of a deposit (which we did eventually) and "online check-in", including (hold my beer) "a photo of your government-issued passport or ID as part of the form". And also : "Failure to complete it will affect your check-in experience as you will not be able to check in." (which we did without online check-in, no problem). I don't know who owns this place, but please replace this rental management company. My life does not revolve around answereing emails from weekend venues.... or being threatened!

Loved the location, the cosy and well equipped home, and the friendly check in. Joyce was wonderful. We will be back.

The property management company sent me links to another site for check in and a security deposit which made me nervous as first, I didn't want to click on the link as I thought it might be a scam. I was able to quickly reach them though to confirm it was not.

Le lieu en plein nature avec plein d’oiseaux. La maison elle même a beaucoup de charme et c’est meublé avec goût.

Certains équipements mériteraient d’être rénové ou renouvelé. Notamment une grande crevasse dans le sol de la chambre et les équipements ménagers qui sont assez usés.

The house was comfortable and spacious

The location was not where it was indicated when booking. Its about 20 minutes outside of Nanyuki. When making the reservation it said payment to be done at the property, however, on the morning when we were traveling there we started getting pressured to make the payment (getting calls and messages saying our booking wasn’t confirmed if we didn’t pay). Upon making the payment a $70 security deposit was added on (this charge came out of nowhere). We were told it would be refunded on checkout, on checkout we were told it would be refunded in 4 business days, and after 4 business days we were told it would be refunded the following week. Still waiting to see if we will be refunded.
