Casa Canavial

Extremely spacious villa perfectly equipped for small children. Our toddler and baby loved the playroom. There was everything we needed from baby baths, changing tables, and pottys.

Not all of the equipment was working. The coffee machine was temperamental and the dishwasher was leaking. The villa is in a lovely quiet area but there are not many restaurants or coffee shops close by. A car is necessary.

A lovely spacious villa with great rooms, a pretty garden and pool. The two biggest positives are the amount of space and the location. The villa is less than five minutes walk to the Fisherman's coastal path that can be used to walk all the way into Lagos or to the nearby beaches (the nearest of which, contrary to what appears online, is NOT a nudist beach but is quite tricky to walk down to), which are lovely. The beds, bathrooms and kitchen were all great, and it was a real treat to be able to spread out so much and always be able to find a quiet spot. The proximity to a great supermarket (Intermarche) and the town of Lagos was also good, and we ate at the villa and elsewhere about 50/50 during our stay, using the excellent barbecue grill.

A little more attention to detail in the housekeeping standards would be good. Although I appreciate that this is a vast property and must cost a fortune to maintain and keep up to date, it needs subtle updating using the not inconsiderable rental income it attracts. It would also benefit from a bit of an edit: there are multiple useless electrical appliances, which I am sure are never used; many kitchen knives, but not a single sharp one and a motley collection of glassware that's obviously been accumulated over many trips to bars.

The villa is spacious and generally everything you need is there. The check in process was seamless and the villa was easy to find with maps. The pool is a nice size and you have access to the entire property

The villa is very dark and dated and is in need of some major updating. The listing states satellite TV, there is none, only internet TV (Amazon and Netflix). The listing states internet "throughout the villa", this is not the case. It limited to the lounge area and due to all the walls, the internet does not reach every where. I had to unplug the internet and move it to the other side of the villa if I wanted internet there, All the crockery and cutlery are in the lounge/dining room so when you are working in the kitchen you constantly have to walk between the two to get cups, glasses and plates. The toaster shocks you if you touch any metal part, the coffee machine and left over mouldy coffee left in it from a previous guest, the fish barbeque had left over coal in it from a previous guest. The dinks table at the main room balcony is broken and half of the complimentary jams had expired. The one shower head is broken and some light bulbs do not work. There is also no house user manual to familirise yourself with the house. I believe people are wowed by the size and miss the actual shortcomings of the property.
