Enjoyable Stay

I stayed in room 208, I liked there was plenty of power sockets in the room, at the end of the bed and by the bedside table and behind the television. There was plenty of different lighting. I liked the carpet was clean and attention to detail with cleanliness looked as though it had been done in the room. I liked the bathroom decor and there was a good size shower, the bathroom is modern I liked the mirror in the bathroom had it's own light instead of turning on the whole bathroom light The male member of staff when I checked in the evening 03/09 was very polite and welcoming and the male and female member of staff doing the breakfast room on the morning of 04/09 was very polite and kind too. Thinking about all the things I have wrote, I would pay and come back and stay again based on more positives then negatives.

WiFi download speeds vary, not so good upstairs, in the room I got download speed 4.61Mbps and upload speed of 5.90Mbps Downstairs in the breakfast room by the reception, much better at download speed 55.3Mbps and upload speed at 11.53Mbps Does the hotel have WiFi boosters on each floor to boost signal? Might be a suggestion to add these in so speeds constant around the whole hotel The highest speed in the area is 80Mbps available but Highland broadband are looking to improve this by the end of 2025. The power sockets behind the television in room 208 had USB A ports in them, which are slightly outdated now, mybe removing them and using a power socket with USB C port would be a nice touch as USB C faster charging more modern.

Good location, comfortable and good breakfast

Arrived late and was able to get dinner (set menu, but perfectly fine) before a large tour group arrived back at the hotel. Room was comfortable and warm. Good breakfast, which was included in the price. Welcoming and helpful staff.

Polite and friendly service from all the staff we met.

Plenty of space in room, staff were very accommodating as we could leave our bags early before check-in and after we checked out to conincide with train times, which meant we could explore further without dragging our bags around. Much appreciated.

The first room we got was small and very warm. When I asked about turning off the heating I got moved to a better room. It was done very fast and efficient and they were very helpful and pleasant.

Pleasant stop in Thurso

The couple who owns this hotel and the station hotel is friendly. They just reopened after 3 years due to Covid and renovation. They essentially work with groups from coaches. Almost no individuals. There is no lift but they can help carrying the luggage. The single room is large enough, comfortable, the bed is excellent, the bathroom large but the sink is ridiculously small. I had no noise at the end of the corridor at the second floor. The restaurant room is huge, modern and pleasant. The new team needs to train a bit. I waited too much to be served and the food had nothing special. The breakfast is typical Scottish for the hot part, otherwise some cereals and fruits seemed to come from tins. As I missed my bus to the ferry, the owner kindly offered me a lift. I am grateful. So I would definitely come back if I was in Thurso again

Nothing the bed was ok.

Rooms were sparse and old fashioned breakfast was tiny with the thinest toast I have ever seen in my life the bacon was hard. It was like a 1950’s guest house. In no way up to todays standards. The shower was falling apart and the toilet cracked. The worst hotel I have stayed in ever. Couldn’t wait to leave.

Das Hotel in der nördlichsten Stadt der britischen Hauptinsel liegt an einer ruhigen Straße am Rand der Innenstadt, die ein paar Gehminuten entfernt ist. Obwohl das Hotel nicht über einen eigenen Parkplatz verfügt, war es kein Problem, auf der Straße davor zu parken. Das Zimmer und das Bad waren ausreichend groß und wegen der Lage nach hinten heraus sehr ruhig. Das Restaurant ist eher durchschnittlich, ebenso wie das Frühstück.

Great hotel overall

Muy buena ubicación, muy cerca de la estación de tren y en una calle muy bonita y cerca de los puntos de interés turistico del pueblo. También cerca de muchos servicios. La habitación y el hotel es muy acogedora, renovada y limpia. El baño está bastante bien. El personal es muy amable y hospitalario, estuvo pendiente de mí y no tuve problema en dejar mi mochila un par de horas allí al día siguiente.

Quizás por el motivo que me hospede durante el mes de agosto, los precios estaban bastante disparados.
