Hotel Bosnali

Used to be a beautiful historical property. Unfortunately management is now focused on the wedding and engagement party business ran out of the rooftop bar. Everyday the hotel is crowded with wedding guests. Loud music is played until midnight every night. This is a tiny boutique hotel! Too small to also operate as an event space.

This overpriced so-called boutique hotel with its collections of porcelain and “objets d’art” has been cheaply refurbished and is certainly not worth the price it charges, even if you get a good deal on an app. Cons There was no safe in the bedroom. The noise of voices in the small central lobby and the clatter of footsteps on the cheap thin nylon carpets on the stairs resound in the bedrooms with their thin wooden doors, often late at night when guests arrive back late or when there are receptions in the lobby and in the roof. If you are a light sleeper, you will have problems. WiFi can be poor in some rooms with their old thick walls. My bathroom had poorly patched plaster work and a leaky shower and the cheap thin nylon carpet was horrible to walk on. There were only three clothes wardrobe hangers which could not be removed. Pros My room was beautifully cleaned by a lovely local Turkish lady. The shower and a/c were powerful though water not very hot. The bed was firm and comfortable. Breakfast is imaginative and delicious with a whole array of dishes brought to the table by really lovely warm friendly staff. Reception staff are reserved but helpful.

A woman at the front desk appeared to be unfamiliar with her responsibilities. Despite having booked our room with breakfast and having our reservation details from Agoda, we were unable to access breakfast. It felt as though we were being accused of trying to deceive them! After we firmly asserted our right to breakfast, she eventually conceded that we could have it, but it was already past breakfast hours. We chose not to eat, as our mood had soured. The service was terrible. Our room was also extremely noisy. The management approach does not align with the expectations of a hotel with such a long history. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. We chose it because the building looks beautiful and our friends had booked it for their wedding guests. We had previously seen the nice hallways and the great terrace view. Unfortunately, we only found out later that all the other wedding guests were also extremely dissatisfied with their stay. The Positive Sides The location is excellent, as it is very close to the mosque and the stone bridge. The hotel itself looks great, and the terrace offers a lovely view. Breakfast was also tasty, and the girl working there was very kind and helpful. The lady at the reception was also very polite. The Noise Issues The biggest problem is the constant noise. There are parties on the rooftop terrace every day (you can see the schedule on their Instagram). The sound insulation is terrible, so the music was extremely loud even though we stayed on the 1st floor. Guests constantly walk through the hallways, talk loudly, and slam doors. You cannot even rest during the day because the hotel is a popular spot for wedding photoshoots. Photographers and brides often block the stairs and your room door. Maintenance and Cleanliness Although the building is beautiful, it is in very poor condition. Several lightbulbs in the room and bathroom did not work, the small makeup mirror was about to fall off, tiles were missing, and the shower looked awful (as seen in the photos). On top of that, the rooms were dirty. The carpet was so dirty that our socks turned almost black from walking barefoot. The counter next to the sink still had toothpaste stains from previous guests. The bathroom grout was black with mold, and the shower, toilet, and trash can were covered in mold and limescale. Other Details The air conditioning only worked occasionally. There was only one small trash can for the entire room, located in the bathroom. Also, there was a strange hole in the bathroom ceiling that was definitely not used for ventilation. Overall, this hotel has great potential, but the lack of hygiene, maintenance, and peace made our stay very uncomfortable. We do not recommend it.
