In our charming vacation rental with a south-facing terrace in the village of Petersthal, you’ll find yourself right in the heart of the OBERALLGÄU region. The apartment is located on the first floor of a quiet, Alpine-style house, one of three houses in an attractive residential complex. Look forward to spending a relaxing and fascinating vacation in this beautiful landscape with the “Herp” vacation apartment as your home away from home. PETERSTHAL is a friendly Allgäu farming village, incorporated into the air and Kneipp spa town of Oy-Mittelberg. It is situated on the ROTTACH RESERVOIR (just a 10-minute walk from the vacation rental along a meadow path). From the vacation rental, you can see the village center with its famous Baroque church, the Grünten (the northernmost rocky peak in the Iller Valley), the Rottachberg, and the Nagelfluh mountain range near Immenstadt. In the village, there is a pizzeria, a kiosk-restaurant by the lake, and a weekend bread roll delivery service. The central town of Oy, with grocery stores, restaurants, and a spa center, is 5 km away.
Summer Activities: Walks through the Alpine foothills, hiking around the Rottach Reservoir (15 km route), swimming in Lake Rottach and the Baden lakes
Winter Activities: Snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, children’s ski lift in the village, nearest downhill ski slope in Nesselwang (10 km)
Popular destinations: Kempten Cultural Center (20 km), Füssen with its royal castles (40 km), Oberstdorf with the Nebelhorn (40 km), Lake Constance (70 km)
Why choose a vacation rental in the Allgäu?
Kempten was the first home of the young Herp family. After moving to Hesse for work, however, their love for the Allgäu mountains remained, and so in 1983 the young family decided to purchase a vacation home in the Allgäu —in Petersthal on Lake Rottach—with an underground parking garage and an indoor pool in the building—which is especially appreciated in winter. Usage plan: Personal use and rental. By now, even my grandchildren love vacationing in the Allgäu.
Herp Vacation Rental:
With 42 m² of living space, the vacation rental offers plenty of room for up to 4 people. The apartment is functionally and attractively furnished. It consists of a living room with a dining area, including a corner bench and a sofa set; a bedroom with a double bed and built-in closets; a hallway; a bathroom with a shower; and a separate kitchen equipped with an electric stove (glass-ceramic cooktop, oven, and grill). In the living room, satellite TV, a radio/cassette/CD player, board games, and a small library (including children’s books) provide entertainment. The south-facing terrace, with views of the mountains and the village, invites you to relax with its patio furniture and lounge chairs. As part of the residential complex, our vacation rental includes an underground parking space (!) and free use of the complex’s indoor swimming pool (!), as well as a table tennis room and a laundry room with coin-operated washing machines and dryers. Unfortunately, the residential complex’s indoor pool is closed until November 2026 due to renovations.
On-site costs: Included in the total price are: rent with underground parking space and indoor pool access, final cleaning at €45, and visitor’s tax at €1.40 per day for adults and €0.80 for children.Bed linens and towels are available upon request for a fee (€10 per person). Please notify the property via email after booking whether you would like bed linens and towels. Check-in is available from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Check-out is from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Keys will be handed over in person on-site. One dog is permitted upon request for a fee of €10.00 per stay. Payment must be made in advance via bank transfer.A deposit of 25% of the total amount is due immediately upon booking. The remaining balance must be transferred no later than 2 weeks before arrival.
