About this cabin rental
Welcome to our log cabin on beautiful and crystal clear Island Lake near Barnes, WI! Island Lake is over 50' deep and approximately 60 acres. It is large enough for skiing and tubing but small enough for kayaking and paddle-boarding and doesn't have the heavy boat traffic of a larger lake. The lake is almost all sand-bottom and you can swim or float right from the shore and our dock! It stays clear and clean all year because it is so deep!
Our outdoor accommodations include a huge wraparound deck and a gorgeous screened porch, both with lake views! We have a Weber gas grill (with gas line), dining table and Adirondack chairs on the deck as well as a fire pit, swing and picnic table near the lake. We have 2 stand-up paddle-boards, a canoe and a paddleboat available for your use. We have a dock available if you would like to bring your own boat or rent a boat and have it delivered to our lake.
Our home is perfect for year-round recreation as it is located directly on a snowmobile/ATV trail and features a huge trailer-friendly circle drive with plenty of parking (and a basketball hoop). The home features heated floors and a wood burning stove on the main level for the cold months and an air conditioning unit available for the hot months! We also have a back-up generator should the power ever go out during your stay.
The main floor features complete living facilities including a main floor bedroom with a king bed, a bathroom with a tub, and a washer and dryer. Enjoy the gorgeous lake views from the open floor-plan and complete wall of windows and doors to the deck and screened porch, both overlooking the lake! The primary suite is upstairs and includes a queen bed and large bathroom with a separate tub and shower and walk-in closet. The lower level features 2 bedrooms overlooking the lake, a a family/game room with a sleeper sofa, air hockey table, foosball table, dart board, an arcade game and another bathroom with a shower! The first lower level bedroom has a queen bed and the second has 2 sets of bunk beds. There is new carpet and fresh paint throughout the entire home.
Our location is great…Cable, Duluth and Hayward are all within a short drive!! We are an easy drive from the Twin Cities (approximately 3 hours and all on paved roads). We are also not far from Bayfield, where you can hop on a ferry to Madeline Island for a fun day trip! Let me know if you have questions about our location or activities! We had a fantastic week at the lake making memories. The cabin's layout was great for our family of 6 adults and 4 kids under 7. Plenty of room to be together or have some space with the 3 levels. The screened porch is amazing! We spent lots of time fishing off the pier for panfish, canoeing, catching frogs, watching the loons, playing in the sand and swimming. Our walks around the lake, under 2 miles, gave many opportunities to see deer and fawns. The area is amazingly quiet/peaceful. Angie was incredibly responsive to any question we had and really made us feel very welcome. Thank you for sharing your property.

Absolutely beautiful home and setting. We arrived with 3 other couples to enjoy the fall colors (which had not yet changed) with our UTVs. The owners have everything you could need, for any season. We plan to be back next year -- thank you!
