ABOUT NORTH VIEW
North View is very quirky with its never ending hallways and unusually shaped rooms. It dates back to the 1880s when it was run by nuns and called St Saviours Grange, although it has seen much modernising since this time. It is the site of the second windmill in the area (Bay Windmill), which was knocked down at the time of the building of St Saviours Grange. Rumours suggest that the agreement was to have part of the windmill incorporated into the house. The second windmill to the area still stands and is located in the village of Herne.

The house benefits from wooden double glazed sash windows and a log burner, so can be enjoyed all year round. There is wifi accessible throughout the house.

There is parking on the sea front adjacent to the house and to the rear of the property. There is free parking outside the controlled zone a few minutes walk from the property. The rear garden gate leads to the parking area and also leads directly into the town centre.

HERNE BAY LOCATION
Herne Bay is an excellent location to holiday, which really comes alive in the Summer months with various events and activities hosted in the town. Herne Bay has a far reaching promenade consisting of 7 miles of beach. The part of the saxonshore coastline extends from Whitstable to Margate, which is great for cycling. Along the way you will pass beach huts, ice cream sellers, pubs and restaurants serving all types of cuisine. Rest and play on the many beaches and at the end of the day, take in unrivalled breath taking sunsets from the beach.

Herne Bay is nestled in between the Cathedral City of Canterbury (7 miles away) can be accessed by foot or bike along the famous old railway line "Crab and Winkle way and the ever popular Harbour town of Whitstable (5 miles away); which can be accessed by foot or bike along the "Saxonshore way". The 12th Century Roman Fort of Reculver Towers is only 3 miles away, clearly visible from Herne Bay seafront and is a popular walk or bike ride, with a welcoming pub at the end.

Herne Bay is easily located to other towns of interest such as the medieval towns of Faversham and Sandwich, the white sands of Margate (home of the Turner Contemporary Gallery), Broadstairs and Ramsgate. A fifteen minute walk to the train station can get you to Whitstable in 7 minutes, Faversham in 15 minutes (with high speed links to London) Margate in 15 minutes, Broadstairs in 25 minutes and Ramsgate in 30 minutes (with high speed links to London). 5 star stay !!! Our family stayed for 14 nights over Christmas and New Year. The whole experience, from communication with Martyn and Amanda, to checking in, to staying in the house, has been smooth, easy and brilliant. We had 3 different generations staying and everyone absolutely loved the property. The photos do not do the property justice. It is so much more spacious, cosy, comfy and full of beautiful things. Everything is set out for you to just turn up and be able to start using everything straight away. They have the most comprehensive welcome pack and the welcome hamper will blow you away!! The property is sparkling clean, full of lovely personal touches and everything you will ever need. It is so close to the beach, shops, restaurants, pubs, local attractions and so much more. We can’t wait to return and stay again. A truly magical place to stay and make memories with a partner, family or friends. Thank you so much for hosting us xxxx

There really should be a sixth star available to rate this property. Our family of 5 used it as base for exploring Canterbury and the coastal towns of eastern Kent. Herne Bay is a perfect location for that purpose and I can’t imagine there’s a better place to stay in HB. The house is located in a cul-de-sac right on the sea front in the centre of HB. Its unprepossessing front hides a wonderful property within. The house was beautifully furnished with every amenity that we needed for our stay. In addition to being a lovely place to stay, the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners was unprecedented in our numerous VRBO stays. Martyn was very responsive to our questions and went the extra mile to make our stay as comfortable as possible. He provided very helpful reminders that made things go smoothly. Martyn: heartfelt thanks from our family for your lovely house and making our time in HB so special!

This is in an absolute lovely position he only problem is the parking but we managed ok and parked behind and loaded the car from the car park. The house is a home from home we had trouble with regulating the en suite shower but the other shower was great! Would thoroughly recommend!
