    Great hotel to stay with lots of good food nearby. Hotel is clean and nice. 20 min walk to the famous street.

    A polished, practical Osaka base with an excellent breakfast, a genuinely useful lounge, and a relaxing 19th-floor public bath—though its location is better for Hommachi commuters than for travelers who want to be in the middle of Dotonbori. What stood out Very good wagyu breakfast. The Japanese-Western buffet has around 50 dishes, and the A5 wagyu beef curry is a clear highlight; it made mornings feel like part of the experience rather than an afterthought. Free-flowing brewed coffee on the 3rd floor. The lounge coffee is a small but valuable perk, especially before heading out or while planning the day. Practical 3rd-floor lobby space. There are dining tables where you can comfortably eat convenience-store food, which is ideal for late-night snacks or a casual, budget-friendly meal. Fast, efficient check-out. The process was quick and hassle-free—perfect when catching a train or fitting in one last Osaka stop. Public onsen on the 19th floor. The large public bath is complimentary for guests and offers a calm way to recover after walking around the city. What could be better Location is at the quieter end of Shinsaibashi. It is convenient for Hommachi, but it is farther from Dotonbori, so expect a longer walk or a short train ride for the main nightlife and dining area. Convenience stores require a short walk. Lawson and 7-Eleven are a few blocks away, which is not a major issue but less convenient than staying directly beside a konbini. About 7 minutes / 500 m from Hommachi Station Exit 11. The official access point is Exit 12, but from Exit 11 the walk can feel less convenient—particularly with heavy luggage, as there are no elevators or escalators on that route. Who it suits Granbell Hotel Osaka is best for travelers who prioritize a strong breakfast, comfortable facilities, and a restful onsen over being steps from Dotonbori. If you are carrying large suitcases, choose a route with elevator access or arrive via the more luggage-friendly station exit.

    Overall, I had a good stay here! The location was convenient, and for the price, I thought it was a good value. The biggest downside was definitely the room size. This was the smallest room I stayed in throughout my entire Asia trip, and it was pretty tight. For one person, I think the space is manageable, but if you’re traveling as a couple, it may feel very cramped, especially if you both have luggage. That being said, for the price and location, I was happy with my stay. If you’re a solo traveler and don’t need a lot of space, I think it’s a great option for Osaka!

    I did not stay at this property, so room-related categories are rated neutrally; this review is about the booking and communication experience. I booked this hotel for October 23–31, 2026 and prepaid CAD ***. I made a double-booking error in June and believed I had cancelled it; when I discovered the charge in October I contacted Agoda immediately. The fee waiver was denied quickly, which I understand is the hotel's policy. I then contacted the hotel directly — through the app and by email on October 22 — explaining that I would not be in Osaka until the 24th. I received no reply on either channel, not even an acknowledgment, and no alternative was ever offered. They could have kept the full payment and simply let me arrive a day late; instead they ignored every message. A refusal is one thing; being ignored entirely is poor customer service.
