La Casa Flores, maison traditionnelle portugaise

We had a wonderful and relaxed stay at this beautiful historical house. The property is quite spacious, well thought-out, and tastefully decorated in a charming rustic style. There was a welcoming feel about the place and plenty of space inside/ outside to relax or come together as a group. The location was perfect—just a short drive to the beach and within walking distance of cafés and restaurants in the charming village of Odeceixe. Despite the summer heat, the house was airy and cool in the evenings, which made our stay even more comfortable. The owner, Antoine, was extremely responsive, helpful, and flexible with the check-out times, which we very much appreciated. Good value for money too. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we would happily return!

Pillows/bedding could be upgraded.

Aivan ihana talo! Upeasti sisustettu kunnioittaen vanhan talon henkeä mutta kuitenkin kaikin mukavuuksin. Kaunis ja tunnelmallinen talo keskellä kylää. Piha kahdessa tasossa, toiseen paistoi aamuaurinko, toiseen iltapäivä. Molemmissa ruokapöytä tuoleineen. Kolme makuuhuonetta, joista suurimman yhteydessä kaunis kylpyhuone. Kylän laidalta, muutaman sadan metrin päästä löytyy runsaasti ilmaista pysäköintitilaa. Ravintolat kävelymatkan päässä.

Talo on pienellä kujan pätkällä, joka oli vähän vaikea löytää. Autolla ei pääse ihan oven eteen mutta tarpeeksi lähelle kuitenkin. Yläkerran wc sijaitsee suurimman makuuhuoneen yhteydessä ja talon toiseen vessaan kulku alakerrasta keittiön kautta ulos. Voi olla hankala, jos majoittujana isompi ryhmä.

Very charming traditional portoguese house in the center of the village. Very clearly a much loved familiy holiday home and not a commercial enterprise. We very much appreciated that fact. We very much loved the house and would love to return at some stage. Antoine has been a very supportive and patient host and became our saviour when our flights got cancelled due to the changing COVID regulations. I can only wholeheartedly recommend the Casa Rosa (which is interestingly enough coloured in a beautiful light blue on the outside) as a home away from home. The location as well was perfect for us.

There isn't anything we disliked. Potentially, guests who are used to upmarket hotels won't find enough luxury in the set-up of the bathrooms and antique furniture. We found everything particularly endearing. Some written instructions in the house might be helpful e.g. with the gas heating (relevant for warm water) and things like dishwasher tabs etc. would be an added plus. However, Antoine is always available, very quick and helpful in response, so again, no criticism whatsoever :-)
