If you want a quiet bolt hole in beautiful surroundings this is a gem!

Out in the sticks extremely quiet cottage. Perfect for our nervous dog over the bonfire night. Small one bedroom house. Such a comfy bed! Gorgeous views . Lovely owner lives joining next door. Big shower. Garen to rear with covered seated area. Lots of birds and owls roosting. Not far to drive to penrith itself not Pooley bridge and the Gorgeous peaks at ullswater. A perfect retreat for us indeed.

A bit too warm which isn’t a bad thing but we had to open the window. Some tinfoil or cling film would be useful in the kitchen.

Relaxing long weekend away! Couples getaway.

Beautiful cute little cottage, as described!! This was booked perpasly for a relaxing getaway and it was just that, cosy, comfortable & bed was perfect, everything you need for a few day escape. Stairs was no suprise to us as well advertised as being steep, they are steep but manageable to us, we thought it added to the experience 😊 private parking side of the cottage and lovely garden with stunning views. We would certainly return. Thank you for our stay.

Gorgeous cottage in peaceful and pretty surroundings.

The cottage is beautifully located with great views of the hills. The garden is lovely and very useful with a dog! The parking is very handy and the whole place is very well equipped.

The bedroom and bathroom are on different floors which is difficult because the stairs are very steep. This makes night time visits to the bathroom very tricky.

The Haven was perfectly positioned for a number of different areas in the lakes and the pub up the road was perfect walk

Enclosed garden was amazing for bringing along our dog! Outside space was lovely especially the views for a morning coffee, It had everything you needed for a short stay!

Only personal opinion a sofa would have been good for a longer stay but I completely understand the space would be cramped! We ended up watching tv in bed from 10 both nights which was a little treat so can’t complain!

Good location. Pleasant host, but I would not want to rate their cleaner.

Was not as clean as I expected it tp be. We had to spend a fair amount of time disinfecting and cleaning the kitchen floor, and there were dead flies about the place.

Lovely cottage near Penrith

The property was quirky and beautifully fitted out. The small garden was a real bonus with fabulous views.

Despite many notices warning us about low ceilings in places my husband bumped his head several times. The stairs are steep, but we had been told that when booking and had no problem

OK stay but some serious flaws

Well appointed kitchen, comfortable bed, nice views over the Pennines

The shower floor was lethal and needed a shower mat. I slipped on the shower floor and very nearly fell. The heater in the bathroom did not appear to work. It was attached to the wall by rawlplugs, one of which was pulling out! The stairs were incredibly steep and creaky - could have been dangerous when going down to the toilet in the night. I don't remember seeing anything about this in the property spec. Frankly this was unsuitable for us as 80 year olds but we weren't aware until we arrived. The property sign was not very distinct

Lovely clean property. The outdoor space was excellent. Perfect for the two of us and our miniature sausage dog.

Perfect again

It's not the first time we have stayed here and it was perfect, again. Excellent location, excellent facilities and even managed to cook a full dinner! Comfortable, quiet and perfect for our needs. Highly recommended. Contact with owners was easy and relaxed.

Very clean, high standard, well equipped little hideaway not far off the beaten track. Would definitely recommend.

Host was very informative prior to arrival and very welcoming with arrival instructions and lights left on. Cottage is lovely and views are beautiful, loved the windows and doors that let the outside in, in so many ways, the day I stayed the changing light and countryside outside was mesmerising. Fresh daffodils in the kitchen were a joy. As a woman staying on my own it felt very homely and secure.

Stairs to bedroom are very steep, which wasn’t a problem for my stay but worth mentioning.

A real away from it all.

The location is a delight. Very, very peaceful with lovely views down the valley. It was immaculately clean and the bed was so comfy! Although there's no sofa, the chairs in the kitchen are very comfortable. Our dogs loved the little garden, and so did we!

The stairs are as steep as described, but if you take them sideways they're not a problem at all.

Cosy accommodation, in a beautiful rural location.

Clever compact design of cottage. Had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Very clean and well presented. Shower room/bathroom was perfect. Nice space to sit outside in the mini garden, with a fine view across to the North Pennines.

Headroom is limited. I knew it, but I still bumped my head a few times. Flies! An inevitable downside to being out in the country where there is livestock around. Perhaps a UV 'zapper' in the kitchen area would be a useful addition. And/or a screen door.

Beautiful property in a great area, lovely view and very clean.

The stairs were very steep but I was warned so didn’t have an issue with that. Also it would have been more comfortable with a living room but the weather was nice so we sat in the garden instead which was great.
