Chestnut Lodge With Hot Tub

Lovely spacious lodge. Particularly enjoyed using the hot tub.

The pillows were small and lumpy. The TV was temperamental.

The location was perfect.

Was originally advertised as 2 twin beds , 1 double and 2 sofa beds . No sofa beds. This put us in a very embarrassing situation. Message left on answerphone no reply. Message sent, no reply. Battery had to be removed from smoke alarm as kept beeping. No safety instructions for hot tub although we were told to read. Wrong password given for WiFi. After the event and my contacting the company we were offered 50% off two lodges for another stay. That would be exactly like we had paid this time and as we are not visiting the area again was not an option. I was told we should have requested a sofabed and bedding but nothing on the advertisement to say this. The manager said she would ring me back on Friday. Nothing. I contacted her at 17.10pm. I understand that she was busy but a bit of courtesy would not have gone amiss. She then said she would ring after 10 am on Saturday. No phone call just email with the offer. I declined and asked for a response. Nothing again. I was told the bed situation was outside the control of the property management, surely they should check what is bringing advertised. I booked this in good faith and was left with a very embarrassing situation.

Lodge is located on a quiet park close to the town of Malton. Very peaceful & relaxing. Lodge was clean & well prepared for our visit. Clean linen crockery all in good condition the hot tub is great.

The messages sent prior to checking in with forceful words of what you can & can not do what isn’t allowed what you will be charged for if you do certain things. Passive aggressive. It kind of puts you off wanting to come & has you on tender hooks. The lodge interior needs some tlc as previously mentioned in reviews, toilet seat needs some attention shower door handle is loose Curtain rails with no curtains in the bedroom bedside lamp as previously mentioned in a review still isn’t working. Bolt Locks on main doors are broken & does not lock leaving it not secure. Please note £200 security deposit is taken prior to check in & you will receive lots of messages stating they will deduct money from you if for example the toilet seat breaks which it will because it hasn’t been fixed. Someone is going to be unlucky and these things will break on your trip and you will be charged. Please sort this out. You charge a premium we expect a premium of quality back. Check out between 9-10am too early..
