About this cottage rental
2026 Reopen to guest stays: the remodeled four-season cottage sits on a beautifully shaded, quiet dead-end street on all sports Crooked Lake. Located in Central Michigan just off US10 offering the outdoor enthusiasts year around options for an enjoyable vacation.
A perfect couples or small family get-away, you will find ample space featuring a king bed and new Sealy queen bed, perfect for a restful night. The cozy bathroom includes a refreshing walk in shower to start your day right. The newer kitchen is amply stocked for your cooking needs including a George Foreman grill and gadgets. Eat-in high top dining where you can enjoy the elevated lake views and an adjoining sun room with washer/dryer. With heating, central air, and gas fireplace the cottage stays comfortable no matter the season. Step inside and feel the serene atmosphere that makes this spot a wonderful retreat.
A sliding glass door opens to an upper level deck, a bird’s eye view overlooking the lake, canal and flower gardens. Down a few steps to the back deck is an outdoor bar area or to the garage which has been converted to a three-season room overlooking the lake, includes a large redwood table for your pavilion picnics or games (corn hole set included). Open the windows and enjoy!
A rounded fire-pit area just off the back deck is stocked with firewood. The driveway is paved with room to park 2 vehicles. The boat ramp is around the corner from the cottage, and we can accommodate storing our guests trailer for the week, just ask prior to your stay. We welcome your outboard fishing boat or pontoon. However, since it is a canal with limited depth, I/O boats are not allowed. No boat? We offer two kayaks and a paddle boat for your enjoyment.
Clare County offers "20 lakes in 20 minutes" and tens of thousands acres of ORV State land trails for Jeepers and ATVs. Pere Marquette rail trail for biking/snowmobiling/walking is just down the street. Our little town of Lake with a party store, dining establishments and hardware- a 2 min drive. Clare, ‘gateway to the north’ is Amish country and hosts a multitude of restaurant options and downtown shops- 15 minute drive.

The property was well equipped with pots, pans, toiletries, etc. The location on the lake is quiet and peaceful. Accessing the canal via the break wall can be difficult, especially for older people. Good place for a quiet getaway for a couple.

We had a great time staying here. We had one minor hiccup when a storm blew through and we lost power for a few days, but Mark and Carrie did all they could to make the stay nice. The kids were a little disappointed there wasn’t WiFi but they managed. We would definitely stay there again! My husband and I enjoyed taking the pedal boat out in the mornings and evenings to fish. It was a good trip! The extra touches they made prior to arrival were very nice and welcoming!

Cozy, clean house with access to a paddle boat and kayaks. We had a great time exploring the lake and playing games on the patio. Hosts left us apple crisp which was a delicious treat!
