About this house rental
Thank you for your interest in our coastal home in Mid-Coast Maine. We are excited to share this dreamy island spot with you. Come visit our cottage on a cove with nature and sea surrounding you.
No boat is required to reach Barter’s Island...just drive your vehicle across the small swing drawbridge by the country store. Once you are here, you can enjoy sitting on the deck over looking the cove, kayaking off the dock when the tide is in, or roasting s'mores by the fire pit. If you are looking for eateries, shopping or boat tours, you can drive just 10 minutes away into Boothbay Harbor. Even closer is the stunning setting of Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. Adventure is around every corner from hiking Porter’s Preserve, to Hendrick’s Head Beach, to Oak’s Point Farm Natural Playground and more.

Beautiful location! Check in/ door lock easy to use! WiFi good, kitchen well equipped. Beds were good. Master bathroom shower leeks, that should be addressed. Would prefer curtains on the windows in the living room and dining area.

Very well stocked. Plenty of space. Nicely furnished. Great views. Had everything we needed. Separate spaces, living room & other sitting area. You Tube tv in LR worked well. However, the tv in the other sitting area didnt have you tube tv. We couldnt figure out how to watch tv on it. Orherwuse, very nice place. Recommend it.

This is our second year staying at this wonderful house in Maine. It was a bit warmer this year but we enjoyed it despite that. The house whas a ton of light and looks out on a peaceful cove. Even though Boothbay is close it seems like you are a world away from it because of the location. We hope to stay here again next year.

We are a family of 8 - 6 adults, 2 children. The area has something for everybody. The house is lovely in a beautiful neighborhood. The common areas are very comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. The deck, dock and firepit are terrific day and night. Our problem was with the upstairs bedrooms. There is no bathroom on the upper level, so the children and adults sleeping upstairs had to go up and down the narrow, steep stairs with no hand rail to go to the bathroom. This quickly became very inconvenient and a little dangerous at night. Also there was only one air conditioner in the room with a window, the 2nd upstairs bedroom (with no window) was very hot. Adding an upstairs bathroom would make a world of difference.
