Hampton Inn & Suites By Hilton Waterloo St. Jacobs

The staff was friendly and the eating area was clean.

The breakfast was cold, the oatmeal was like a runny soup. The taste was mediocre.

The staff were very professional and the hotel room was very clean.

I requested an early check in when I first booked the room but the hotel was unable to confirm that was possible until 1pm of the day I was arriving. I understand why but still feel I should be able to request an early check-in. (I was only requesting a 1pm check in versus the normal 3pm check in due to a wedding that started at 3pm in the nearby town of Wellesley, Ontario Canada)

It had parking and was in a good location for doing day trips

Really handy location for doing things in St. Jacobs or North Waterloo. Nice looking hotel, they have an aesthetic that's nice and modern. Breakfast was pretty good, mostly standard fair and not a lot of variety but the coffee bar is nice,

If I'm going to pay $200 for a room I would like a nicer shower, but if I'm going to pay $200 I'm going to insist the shower be clean. There was hair all over the shower so I only got in, noticed, and got out so wasn't able to use it and it was so late I wasn't going to move rooms. Noticed a stain on the carpet but wasn't too bothered but when I went to breakfast I went to a booth and the bench was stained as was the wall. Someone had also dropped food outside the elevator and when I went back to my room it had been 'cleaned' but while the main spot had been cleaned there was still stuff further away all over the floor. All together it just paints a real picture of lack of care and thoroughness when it comes to cleanliness and after 2 stays in 3 weeks I'll try one of the other hotels that are all in this same area.
