About this house rental
On the Les Genets estate, Les Sapins—a former 19th-century farmhouse—welcomes you year-round for a relaxing vacation in a peaceful, lush setting.
In this carefully renovated former farmhouse, come experience the authentic charm of the Périgord. Set slightly apart from the other vacation rentals, your children can play in the shaded garden, enclosed by an authentic dry-stone wall. They can also run freely in the surrounding meadows, as well as enjoy the Parc des Genêts, the playground, the secure swimming pool, the ping-pong table, and the wide-open spaces—all in complete safety. The cottage is at the far end of the property, making it very safe and quiet (no roads, just a private path leading to it).
Les Sapins can accommodate 6 people across 2 floors.
On the first floor, there is a fully equipped kitchen (oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, etc.),
- Living room with a sofa bed that sleeps 2 (original rammed-earth floor),
- 1 bedroom with a 140-
bed - bathroom (shower), toilet, washing machine.
Upstairs, 2 children’s bedrooms with 90-
beds - bathroom, toilet
Outside: garden furniture and lounge chairs in the shaded garden.
The cottage is 3 km from Thenon, a quiet town where you’ll find all the shops and services you need (supermarket, farm-to-table grocery store, weekly market year-round, night market in season, fishing pond with an open-air café, tree-top adventure park, restaurants, and more).Within a radius of about 10 km, you can visit the most popular tourist sites in the Périgord (the Lascaux 4 International Center for Cave Art, Hautefort Castle, Tourtoirac Caves), as well as Sarlat, the Dordogne Valley, the Vézère Valley, Périgueux....

Logement au calme en pleine campagne, entouré de prairie avec un jardin clos sous les arbres, fort agréable. Nous avons découvert d'autres sites : Tourtoirac, Canoë sur L'Auvezere, Hautefort...compter 20min de voiture, plus pour aller vers les autres sites du Périgord. Il y a plein de randonnée dans les environs, même au départ du gîte. Les qualités du logement sont essentiellement l'extérieur. L'intérieur est propre mais les équipements sont vieillissants ( machine à laver, électroménager) et la literie n'est pas confortable.
Micheline nous accueille avec le sourire et de bons conseils pour les randonnées ou autre. Elle est très disponible.

Maison sympathique, accueillante, au calme, bien entretenue, confortable. Peut-être revoir l'équipement . Nous a personnellement manqué : cafetière traditionnelle, planche à découper, quantité insuffisante de verres (mais Micheline nous a dépannés). Sinon rien à redire. Nombreuses découvertes dans les environs.

Gîte simple, rustique et propre.
Le paradis des enfants : piscine, les 2 ânes, l'aire de jeux.
Les enfants peuvent sortir dans un grand terrain bien entretenu.

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour aux genêts 3. Le gîte correspond à la description et aux photos. La piscine a été très appréciée par les enfants et ...les parents. Idéalement situé par rapport aux sites touristiques. Mme Bernard est de très bons conseils pour des idées de visite. Elle a été très réactive face à un soucis de plomberie! Le seul petit bémol pour le gîte 3 quand on a des enfants jeunes est le portail d'accès du gîte qui donne sur le chemin où circulent quelques voitures. Nous aurions préféré qu'il donne directement sur le jardin comme les autres gites.
Nous gardons tous un très bon souvenir de nos vacances dans le Périgord et aux genêts
