Good choice for calm vacations, quiet place with nice view

Deceiving stay, rude staff, CASH ONLY payment (suspected money laundering)

Nice views at the bay of Kotor. The apartment was clean and functional, recently renovated. Spacious pool. Private “beach” (concrete plot with sunbeds) nearby.

I am a bit puzzled by the stay. It is like they tried to be “fancy”, but they did not quite manage. Our flat was molded at arrival: we were moved. But then they gave the same molded flat to our friends who arrived after. They just keep on trying. We stayed 6 days: not even small cleaning, no added toilet paper. No shower gel. No towels for pool and beach: taking provided towels “strictly prohibited”. Who flies with a set of beach towels for a family of 4, when you booked a flat for almost €200 a night? A lot of equipment was a bit falling apart (like rusty shelves in the bathroom). No coffee machine (even a simple one like French press). Very, very little kitchen appliances (like literally 3 spoons, 3 forks etc., 3 plates etc.). No proper window shades, so our kids woke up every day at 5h30 when the sun raised (very relaxing for the parents). AC only in the living room, none in the bedroom, which was heating up quickly. Located next to noisy and busy road. The pool was falling apart, many tiles peeling off. My daughter got a cut on her arm when playing the pool, due to the sharp edges caused by this phenomenon. The beach was not a beach, just a concrete plate with very difficult access to the sea. What was the worst was the staff! We never got a promised baby bed. None really cared about us during the stay. And on top of all: I suspect some money-laundering going on, as you can ONLY PAY IN CASH. In spite of an online reservation, you have to pay all your stay in € in cash on the spot, handing over hundreds of € against a sort of handwritten note without a VAT. Not clearly visible until you book, and then click via two levels in your confirmation email. Imagine our surprise the day of the check-out and my husband during a tour of local ATMs in summer heat, as none gave us enough cash in once. The establishment claims they have no bank account, so transfer is not possible. Staff not even apologetic, super rude.

It was our second visit at Villas Valentina. Tina was wonderful host who was ready for help with any question. Room is rather basic, but was clean upon arrival and the kitchen was equiped with everything you may need. The location is good for those who have car. The view was stunning. The beach was nice and equiped with sunbeds and umbrellas for hotel guests.

Disappointing

So disappointing!!! There was a horrible smell of sewage (from the toilet) in our room (on the third floor,room #302). The host said they are aware of the problem but can do nothing about it since it is problem in all the village. The room was not clean, there were spiders all over the room and the floor looked like it has never been cleaned. Would NOT recommend it to anyone!

Nice pool with a view and close to the sea. The apartement was spacious.and clean. Great balcony. We liked our stay really much!

Notice that you have to pay with cash! There was quite a strong smell in the room- maybe some cleaning product? The area was quite sleepy in June. Perfect for you if you just want to relax by the pool,but some may find the area even too sleepy especially at this time... There was a busy road next to the hotel,but the noise wasn't disturbing.
